it is an unbelievable draw when you look at the europa league compared to the champions league

i'm happy though - benfica are a big enough name to hopefully get the players fired up - and either atl or valencia in the semi will be a massive game

I want us too play the best teams- always say the same in champions league draws - we might have been playing ****e but the games usually bring the best out of us and if we do go onto too win it at least we have beaten a couple of names along the way.

on a side note - the other side of the draw is very interesting - fulham have a great chance to get the final - good luck to them.

i have to be honest and say i dont know enough about benfica but i know they pissed on everton.

i like that we have the 2nd leg at home in both the QF and the semis(if we make i through), and we're the "home" team in the final so will be wearing red

I live in Lisbon so I watch a fair bit of Portuguese football. Benfica have raised their game this season and look as good as they've been in about the last 10 years. They have a few quality players like Di Maria and Aimar but they are relatively weak at the back and lack depth in the squad. I think we'll get a point away and then scrape through at home. We'd ****ing better because I hate the Portuguese and I can't stand a repeat of the piss taking that went on when they beat us in 2006.

Does luisao still play for them because he was pretty good against us in 2006. The lad di maria is probably the one to watch but the thing about Benfica is they like to attack and this might play into our hands on the counter with the pace of torres and gerrard.

Are they a genuine threat because on paper the team doesnt look great.
