Does luisao still play for them because he was pretty good against us in 2006. The lad di maria is probably the one to watch but the thing about Benfica is they like to attack and this might play into our hands on the counter with the pace of torres and gerrard.

Luisão is still there but well past his best. The threat comes from from players like Aimar and Di Maria linking up with Cardoso up front and Saviola. On their day they can beat just about anyone but if we can get on top of them in the middle of the park we should be able to stop them playing. We'll need a big performance from Mascherano but I reckon we'll go through here

disagree - forget about the shocking performances - most people said last summer, after coming so close, that we just lacked a bit of strength in depth (cover for torres, some quality on the wings etc) and if we didn't improve we would fall short again - we didn't, and we have

we do have enough quality to have at least been a solid top 4th or challenge - but the squad is well short of title winning
