The freekick should be where the foul is committed, i.e. where contact is made, if shirt pulling occurs over a distance I suppose that's up to the referee to define where on the run the foul actually occured. The freekick could have been given anywhere between the initial and final contact (I guess at the closest point to the goal to give the attacking team the advantage). But there was no contact inside the box, so it wasn't a penalty
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Mascher was all over him well before he reached the penalty area. If he gives advantage and Valencia falls inside the box he should go back to where the foul was first committed, as it makes no sense to give a penalty. This is a nonsensical decision, I'm sorry. Never in a million years that was a peno.

I said I thought it was outside but as he kept on his feet and fell in the box it was given. I've seen ****ing **** loads of similar decisions over the years. You can't honestly claim it was the worst penalty ever seen unless my friend you're an idiot. You'd argue black was white.

Yeah that's the one thing I'm not sure on the rule on - when the foul continues into the penalty are does the ref have to take it back to where it started? I don't know. And it also depends at which point the ref deemed Mascherano to have actually committed the foul - we just don't know.

Ok Well, yeah, the contact was outside the box and then Valencia just fell over

Contact was outside of the box, it should have been no more than a freekick.

Valencia should have been booked for blatantly diving

The linesman flagged after Webb had incorrectly blown for a penalty

Webb will be receiving a large sum of unmarked notes from Mr in the not too distant future

We are royally ****ed and have been since early November

Another bad day alround, apart slipping the missus a crippler this morning before we got out of bed

10 league losses this season says it all. We are a mid table team.

I think if there is constant contact outside and continued contact inside the box, the ref is likely to give a penalty. Although I guess the going down under the challenge is likely to occur inside the box.
