Granted I havent seen him play in every match, but I am struggling to remember anything positive he has done in all of his games for us. I dont want to jump on his back, but we need every player to be performing to secure 4th spot, and save our club from oblivion.

Hasnt Babel been playing a bit better recently, and Riera is surely no worse than Maxi?

Anyone care to put me straight on this one, as I cant really spot his pupose. With both him and Kuyt being nothing but "tidy", we still have only the Torres/Gerrard partnership to provide goal threat. And I thought Maxi was a goal scorer in Spain, bit cant remember him having more than a couple of shots.

Was he just bought as cover, and only playing because the other wingers are crap, or is he just not performing as he did in Spain?

Well I tend to agree. Whether Rafa has told him to be more defensive, like today, to cover our dodgy left full back or if its just a case of his legs have gone who knows, but he definitely has not added to us as an attacking threat.

He was great against Portsmouth, dont think he played much this season due to refusing to sign a new contract. Think its early doors to be writing him off, might not be until next season that we see the best of him.

Its easy to look good against the Premierships bottom club, where has he been when we really need him? And if hes not fit enough then dont play him, play someone who is fit enough like Babel or Aquilani.

The only way you get match fitness is by playing matches, do agree he hasnt shown he is going to be good but lets give the lad a chance first.

**** me, last time I watched a Liverpool game I'm pretty sure there was 11 men on the field and responsible for playing.

We never stood a real chance of winning today IMO. To single out Maxi is wide of the Mark. Torres and Gerrard where equally unproductive if I follow your train of thought.
