Steve Bennet, Howard Webb, Alonso, Lucas, Insua

beachballs, Kuyt , lack of good right wingers, lack of top quality strikers, defenders who can aerially dominate, media other managers favoring manchester united etc etc blah blah blah

This is just a let out and not an isolated reaction to yesterday's loss. We are absolutely magnificent in finding excuses for our poor runs over the last ten years. What we have lacked is the mentality or the belief to give 110 % day in day out.

Part of the blame lies on the team - we have too many nice players who feel they have achieved everything by playing for LFC - dont blame them, I would be the same. Lot of good players who give very good performance once in a while but dont have the overwhelming desire to perform above their capacity for more than a month or two at a stretch. A part of the blame lies on the manager also. Look at the way team approaches a game with Barca compared to a game with Wigan. I do understand that there will be a difference in passion. But not by this much.

I have looking at the Scums and admiring the belief they display, their arrogance, their absolute refusal to give up and go for the win. Thats why they always manage to finish atleast second even if their midfield consists of an ageing Scholes and Alan Smith - a striker converted to midfield. That is why so many stars leave their club and they find a way to bounce back - a ferocious desire to win at all costs coupled with tremendous belief. That is what Chelsea lost when Mourinho was fired/quit.

We displayed that for 6 months last year and now we seem to have gone back to the shell. This is not a criticism of Rafa alone. I would include GH and Evans in that list.

Playing at 125% should not be the exception that should be the norm. Funny how Mancs don't get tired towards the end of the season even if they attack with high intensity throughout the year. Until our squad realizes that, doesn't matter if we get super rich owners, we will never be able to build a dynasty to rival the Mancs.

Go back to the run to Istanbul. Watch the never say die spirit we displayed against Juve, Leverkusen, Chelsea. Now display that spirit against Wigan, Bolton, Wolves, Stoke, Birmingham.

We may not win the PL still due to lack of depth/required quality - but I am sure we will find our position improving drastically.

    once again spot on.

We (The Club) have been the architects of our own downfall.
