I was at Fulham for their game against Juve, and despite all the excitement of the game itself I found myself watching Momo, even when he did not have the ball. He still plays 15 yards in front of the defensive midfielder and he still reads the game well, intercepting and tackling to break attacks down before they start. In the first half he also moved the ball on quickly and effectively - though he avoided holding on to it for very long. He seemed also to make himself available for the pass more than I remembered he did. In the second half Juve were poor, and Momo largely disappeared because he always was less effective in the 30 yards nearest to his own goal.
Watching him reminded me of his eye injury and those red goggles he briefly wore.
Dear me, that's so terrible, for Momo yes, but for his wife...my god she must have been devastated after losing one parent , but to then have the added pressure...grief, of the other going too, so sad.
The only nice thought i can have is that they are both together.
