Before anyone quotes Jamie Redknapp again

Just read this and you'll realise just how far off his tits this guy has become. He doesn't have any credibility whatsoever and that since a long time.

    Take note.

Sky falls in on Jamie Redknapp’s Liverpool FC views

SKY pay their pundits handsomely and ensure that they are not inconvenienced when getting to games – chaffeur driven cars come as standard.

With that in mind, you would think that their observations would be shrewd, intelligent and perceptive, as they have plenty of time to think about what they will say.

You could, perhaps, forgive Andy Gray for wittering “this is what I expect to happen unless the unexpected happens” during last Sunday’s Final Word programme but no there are no excuses for Jamie Redknapp.

When reflecting on LIverpool’s 4-1 win at Old Trafford last season, Redknapp said “Xabi Alonso was sensational spreading the ball to Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard that day.”

    Was he really?

Would this be the same Xabi Alonso that had been injured against Real Madrid on the Wednesday prior and saw Lucas take his place?

It was poor from someone who should know better; someone who is in danger of tarnishing the reputation he built for himself at Anfield.

Mind you, that wasn’t the worst part of Sky’s coverage – a smiling Michael Owen talking about the title took that particular accolade.

I know I said this when he signed for them but every time I see him I still think:

You're nothing to me now. You're not a brother, you're not a friend. I don't want to know you or what you do. I don't want to see you at the hotels, I don't want you near my house.
          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I expect nothing less from Redknapp, but many on here are just as guilty with regard to false memories of Alonso. His absence this season is usually trotted out as being the big difference, despite the fact that he only started 27 league games last season. We didn't lose any of the games he didn't start in and had many excellent wins, like Man U away

It's not just typical of Redknapp (can't believe I'm defending him) but the media in general don't bother to do their research. I was reading a match report in on of the sunday papers a couple of weeks ago and they got the team line up wrong in the match report!

To be fair that is more than a third, but the fact that we didn't lose any he didn't start is interesting

it was ****e to watch owen go on about "us" after united had playd us. if you felt anything for us you wouldnt want to be on sky for this game as you would upset the fans of th club you loved or the fans of the club you playd for. the lad shows his lack of class there

and redknapp baffles me as how can an ex player have so little knowledge of the game

Maybe his near constant injured status while he was with us has something to do with it

I think to a large extent some of the older players (from the era when we were dominating) find it frustrating and difficult to see where we are at the moment (and have ben for the past 20 years), but I'm not sure why the likes of Redknapp are like they are.
