Obviously the environment of Sky (and to be fair beyond) is not conducive to thoughtful analysis but encourages tabloid gob****e-ism.
You see a lot of fans put together the memories of Alonso's excellent play with all our successes so on some levels I don't mind him getting it wrong. I do however feel that the fact he would never get called on it and that it is part of a bigger picture of piss poor standards of punditry is pretty irritating.
