all managers make **** signings, all make managers pull off some great signings - reira - looked great, looked like we finally sorted out the left side for a decent fee (was he less than £10m? i can;t remember) unfortunatley turned out to be a bit of prick
Insua - was highly rated young argie left back, the type of player had we not signed then, people would have kicked off about for missing out on. Showed a lot of early promise, imo was unlucky that he was thrust into first choice left back a season or two too soon due to aurelio's injuries and it asked a bit too much off him.
Josemi - looked solid the season prior in spain, came in cheap. started brightly and turned ****
Nunez - don't think rafa had much choice here. We'd been shafted by real in the owen deal and it was a case of you can take nunez or nothing, we took him, he was ****, he was bombed out. It's not like rafa tracked all season, fought for his signature then paraded him round anfield
Babel - when signed was highly rated and sort after by a lot of top clubs, at the time good signing by us -
Voronin - again, when signed - an international with champs league experience coming in as cover on a free...good signing.
Lucas - another, wonderful season in brazil, highly rated youngster, signed for what £5m. at the time a great signing.
You can't just say he's **** and he's **** etc etc so they were bad signings. Every signing be it when we signed torres, reina, alonso, or el zhar, plessis and shelvey or if we signed messi - is a gamble and you don't know if they are going to turn out **** or not.
Little cunt. Used to really like him when he played for us, too.
