Oh, and the lad up top isn't bad either...
Eh, want an argument? We started the same team against Wigan but we lost.

great performance by the team. torres seemed to be abit off form, but still managed to grab 2 as he had tons of chances. special mention for babel as i felt he really raised his game today. abit of unpredictability and tricks, keep it up.

An excellent Rafa-type performance. Crushed Sunderland in the first half, how it wasn't 4 or 5 I'll never know. Second half shut up shop, played percentages and nullified the opposition. Excellent stuff.

BOTH Torres' goals were top, top class - the way he took his second was almost on a par with the first IMO - so cool, so calm.

God in the Sky Studios afterwards said he would have peferred to score the second goal as he likes a good cheeky finish.

Well, Torres never surprises me - ever! Great goals as per usual. Incredible scoring record - only wish he could stay fit for an entire season!

We started with an attacking line up against Wigan - played like ****e.

Agree about Agger - it really helps the team when he moves the ball out from deep. Should have had a hat trick first half though

Babel remains a faintly confusing player. He has added the slip the ball to the right move to his traditional combination of running straight into the player ahead of him and ****ing the ball in the general direction of the goal. Which it has to be said continues his recent progress.

If Torres would only sort his hair out ....

On the only real occasion Johnson was asked to defend he got done by a simple trick, again. He was very good attacking wise but he needs to learn to play the percentages more when deep.

Whilst I thought Babel played well today, including his tracking back when required, I felt his end product was lacking. If he can improve on that and continue to gain in confidence then he could still end up being a top player for us.

Good result though, Torres really is Sexy Tits©.

Think we need to accept he's going to get turned inside out regularly, bit too late to change now. As long as he makes up for it going forward, ill be happy.

Fair point about Babel's new levels of application but to me he has looked to be doing that all season. I don't think he will become a top player but I do think he could be an effective option in terms of bringing directness and pace to the team.

The things I noticed most today was how much better the first touches of several players looked - Babel and Kuyt in particular than they have for a lot of the season - and the way in which little units of players formed to win the ball back in midfield - Johnson, Maxi and Kuyt on the right in particular. Looked reassuringly like the way we have played in the better runs we have had under Rafa.
