You think we should bid for sol Campbell then?

Fowler is a true legend unlike those 2 snakes Owen and Redknapp.....

i'd love if the KOP came out with a banner of true legend strikers - with the likes of Hunt, Keegan, Rush, Fowler, Torres - and deliberately leave the welsh snake off it.....

as for redknapp, let's be honest, he should never been captain anyway. You need a true leader and potential legend as captain. He probably got it because he was a centre midfielder, and also possibly because Barnes used to go on and on about how good he was. I'd much have prefered to see a proper leader on the pitch - like Sami get the captaincy earlier - or else a local guy who knows the club and feels what the fans feel - like Fowler at the time....

Redknapp is a big bowl of toss

I recently met Paul Okon who played with Robbie at leeds many yrs back. He's now the assistant coach of my local Gold Coast United side in Aust. Anyway, my lad went over to paul to get his autograph on an old Liverpool strip. He signed it happily enough and then asked my lad if he wanted him to get Robbie to sign it.(Robbie is playing in Australia for those not in the know) We met up and he took 3 shirts and Robbie signed them all but the best shirt he wrote " To Daniel, All the best " and signed it. He lads always been a Red but that's truly special for him to have Robbies autograph.

        Legend

Special mention for Paul Okon too. We never asked him to do it, he offered to make a young guys day . Forever indebted to you Paul

            Most awesome

Paul hoped I wasn't going to put in on Ebay As if.

Anyway, curiosity got the better of me so I searched and found a signed Robbie shirt selling for $AU 299 and a signed ball for 149.

Favourite line of the day from him - when they were dicussing the similarity between Torres' 1st goal and Johnson's against Gordon the week before, and how unlucky Craig Gordon was to have had two great goals past him in a week:

"They must have figured out his weakness..."

The above facts belong to everybody; the opinions to me; the distinction is yours to draw...

Would love to... unfortunatley I was caught by surprise by Nadine's Mum asking for my shirt & had to take off to give it too her... if only I knew & had a freshly laundered shirt... doh!!! Hasn't been washed for over 15 years (since it had been signed)!!!!

I had a Dad who did understand football (??!!!???) & 3 brothers who weren't interested (??!!???) so luckily I had a Grandad who saw me right! God was my first hero.

                      Cheers

I'm glad your Granddad did the right thing by you. I've brought my lad over twice now from Aust and had him at Anfield both times. And now he's got 3 shirts signed by God himself. Life doesn't get much better for a 10 yr old does it !

To be fair to Redknapp the player (not that **** on the telly) both Robbie and Stevie sang his praises in their books, he seemed to be a great leader in the dressing room, always gave 100% on the field, was just so unlucky with injuries (obviously).
I like to lurk, if that's ok with you

North Queensland Fury have called on Football Federation Australia to allow Robbie Fowler to re-sign for the club.

Robbie Fowler may not return to North Queensland Fury

Fowler, 34, has proved a success since moving to the A-League in 2009 but he is currently thought to be in England earning his European coaching A licence as doubts remain over his future at Fury.

The club is currently under the control of the FFA following cash problems and the body is in talks with the players as they look to reduce wage costs substantially for next season.

It is thought that coach Ian Ferguson, who has been asked to reapply for his job, will leave but the FFA has apparently ruled out the possibility that Fury could appoint a player-coach such as Fowler.

Fury owner Don Matheson, who brought Fowler to the club on a three-year deal, is set to hold talks with Fowler on Tuesday but urged the FFA to do all it can to secure a new agreement with the former Liverpool striker.

"It can't be understated what value he's been to the club," Matheson said in The Age. "The FFA will want to be careful they don't let bean-counters run the game because they don't bring culture to a club."

Fury goalkeeper Justin Pasfield added his weight to the campaign to bring Fowler back to the club.

"He's a big part of our team and a big part off the field as well," he told the Townsville Bulletin. "A player of his calibre, playing with him every day and being with him every day, you learn a lot of things."
