I'd do it if i knew the ground would be empty, but it wont. And the club wouldnt be that arsed i dont think because i, like however many other ST holders there are, have already paid anyway.
In one.
And West Ham may be a joke at present, but any crap like this would be used to motivate their players. I want them to turn up knowing they're gonna get smashed, not let them think they have a bit of hope.Forwards.......

not the answers i was hoping for lads but i can understand season ticket holders who have already paid not seeing the point because the yank leeches wouldnt care when they wouldnt be getting hit in their pockets.still think a weeknight league game is the best time to try it though and hope it gathers momentum.i know we are all sick of saying and hearing it but i wish more of our ex players would say a bit more to let more of our fans know whats going on

I dont disagree with doing it - but i dont think it'd work, because for everyone who decides not to go, there'll be someone else to take their seat.
If people were willing to buy their tickets, but not go - you'd have a nearly empty ground, which would make massive headlines and get good publicity. But this wouldnt hurt them financially.
If you wanted to hit them financially by not buying tickets, unfortunately there'll be others who'll purchase them. And even if nobody bought tickets, the yanks would be losing out on about 15,000 ticket sales revenues - not 45,000, because, as i said, ST holders seats are already paid for.

i know craig and if you and other s t holders send your tickets back to club others will buy them.i personally wont be buying tickets for it with it being a monday night game live on tv it may not sell out so any little might help slightly.as much as id hate to stop going altogether id stand by a boycott of all games if it gathered enough momentum.sadly cant see it happening so no point me missing out on going to games that are guaranteed sell outs anyway.maybe protesting like sunday after every game might be the way to go

and for that reason, it may be viewed that because it's a Monday night and on TV that the fans couldn't be arsed, rather than it being seen as a protest.Originally posted by fowler9 View Posti personally wont be buying tickets for it with it being a monday night game live on tv
Bad timimg imo. We need every single person behind the club at this moment in time.
Let's just support the team in getting that fourth spot.
West Ham will be up for this.

whilst the sentiment is right - i just don't think it should be done - not at this stage of the season when the team need the support from the fans most.
Plus on top of that it just is not feasible - there is no way anfield would be boycotted by more than prob a 1000 fans at most and that would go unnoticied. As already mentioned, season ticket holders will have already paid so most will turn up anyway and those that don’t won’t be missed because they have paid. Then you have to think about people who would have already made plans to attend the game – things like trying to get a ticket all season, got one, arranged travel and hotel etc – they ain’t going to boycott it. And then all the people who never get a chance to get a ticket will fill in any other gaps happily.
If this was planned and the club knew what was happening – on the day of the game a quick announcement on radio city and the website to say they have tickets on sale for £25, will easily sell out.
Whilst, an empty ground would make a hell of a statement, it just isn't going to happeni own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I think this will work a treat. but it has to happen 2 or 3 times before the media really take note and big it up as a serious problem for the owners. Also, the someone else taking the seat stuff only works if the ST holders pass their tickets on right? well the point is that they dont do that. they keep the seat empty.
ST renewal is clearly the one thing that reduces its impact - that the ticket has been paid for and will be renewed. so clearly we cannot say 'you're not earning a penny from home matches'. We can hoever say 'what the fook are you gonna do when no-one turns up for a game?'
The signal it sends smashes their business plan which is at the heart of their leveraging: matchday revenue from food, drinks, club shop sales etc etc from the current income stream and places big questions about those projected - to borrow further for the stadium etc.
so on that basis, it damages our current owners credibility to lend. on that basis, if i had a ST, i'd sit out a whole season of home games (watch them on TV) if that was the plan and I knew the stadium would be empty. 1) thats easy for me to say as I don't have the ST and 2) organising the latter is the biggest challenge.

how could they identify which ST's were going to boycott and therefore sell the ticket unless the ST holders inform them?Originally posted by PTP View Postwhilst the sentiment is right - i just don't think it should be done - not at this stage of the season when the team need the support from the fans most.
