champions league changes, only 3 teams, how do you feel about that?

    champions league changes, only 3 teams, how do you feel about that?

    Michel Platini plans to make changes to the UEFA Champions League if he wins the race to become the next president of Europe's governing body.

    "Four clubs are too many," said Platini. "For everybody - for the country itself, the fans and for the TV rights.

    "Three should be the absolute limit.

    "I am not so stupid as to want to change the current format but there are not enough national champions in the last 32 of the tournament and that cannot be right."
    what do you think of it, would it benefit football if there were only 3 english teams in the champ league...

    and how would it affect us at current to have to push for top 3 instead of 4?

    Would lower the standard of football in the champions league with at least three big teams missing out on Champions League football. Would improve the UEFA cup on the positive side but would be damagin to our chances of playing in the CL.

      I think it should just be the champions that go in it. or at least change the ****in name from champions league to top 3 or 4 league

        If we are scared that because of this rule we won't qualify then that means we had a target of 4th before. How the mighty have fallen. Maybe it will wake up some of our 'stars' to put a bit more effort in.

              As things stand it would only effect us to the degree that we wouldnt be in it. Lets be honest we are nowhere near a top three team ATM

                i know get the smae feeling, seems an arogant little ****...

                like his ideas about tv replays, he's very much against it and will concider instead two more linesmen, think it's a good shout...

                  There's no chance this gets passed. Absolutely none.

                  IMO it should go back to the old format, with only the champions qualifying. Calling it the champions league is just farcical.

                      G14 I would have thought, would throw a wobbler. Couldnt see the top sides agreeing to this, too many would feel threathened by it.

                            g14 are always trying to acomodate the champ league to their idea of a europen super league, and i think it just a matter of opinion, do you want a champions league, where the champions battle it out, or to you want a superleague where the biggest team go at it over and over again...
