    Babel

**** OFF, JUST TAKE YOUR ****ING STUPIDLY OVER-INFLATED VIEW OF YOUR OWN ABILITIES ELSEWHERE AND JUST **** OFF. LEAVE US ALONE - WE DON'T NEED THICK ****S LIKE YOU HERE.

I'd love it if Ryan Babel could use the internet beyond his ****ing stupid Twitter site. I want him to explore the internet further and realise how much the people who pay to see him play get ****ed off with his ****ing lazy ******* attitude and the way his actions changed the ****ing game tonight.

I'm not having any of this bollocks that he's a good player, wrong manager and all that ****. He is ****. ****ing ****. A ****ing **** who never ever ever ever deserves to play for us again. **** off.

Are you disagreeing with my sentiments here? I have no time for Babel, he cost £11m or something like that - that's a lot of money for a thick talentless **** who cares nothing for the people who pay to watch him play.

I felt a bit sorry for him. Rules are rules but it's a **** rule and typical of the authorities. That harmless gesture is deemed more worthy of punishment than some big clogger booting Torres in half.

Babel was having a poor game until then. I'm more adept at going past people FFS.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I can't blame Babel for that token gesture, that dirty mother sucker Luisao should have gone for kicking right through Torres from behind. Babel showed he cared, and no way was that violent behaviour he was telling that big Brazillian turd to shutup infact Luisao was far more violent/intimidating.

That bent ref was looking for any excuse, so lenient with the majority of their dirty tackles and all our guys getting booked, wtf booking Reina for holding the ball for 6 seconds? he was either bent or was intimidated by the crowd, either way that ******* should never ref a top class game again.

Watch now at Anfield we get the opposite ie a ref not intimidated by the event/crowd and then those cheating greasy Portugese cunts diving around wasting time and the ref giving them everything

After last night I can't stand Benfica i hope we tear them a new one.
            We come not to play.

              chill out elephant.

babel showed he gave a **** and stood up for his team mate. the ref was on another planet for nod red carding louisao but the rules are the rules. babel had to go for falling for their 'gamesmanship'.

benfica are cheating ladyboy cunts but we fell for it last night.

The referee was awful, the red card incident shows the benfica player aggressively confronting Babel, Babel is backing away and puts his hand up, he doesn't do it in an aggressive manner, while their player is still aggressively confronting him and also raises his arm (in a more aggressive manner than Babel). Surely the referee has to take into account where the aggression was coming from and who was forcing the movement.

IMO both players should have received the same treatment whether that was a yellow each (which would have seen Benfica player sent off anyway) or a red each if the referee deemed so.

                  Fair play

If nothing else, Ryan Babel has to be commended for coming out and speaking to the world's media after Liverpool's defeat to Benfica on Thursday night. The Dutchman, who seldom gets a starting berth in the team, will have regretted the lost opportunity after receiving his marching orders on the half-hour mark. His side, then leading 1-0, went on to lose 2-1 in their Europa League quarter-final first leg clash in Lisbon.

With Liverpool comfortably in the lead thanks to a super back heeled flick by Daniel Agger, the winger was given his marching orders for aggression. Babel twice raised his hand to the face of Luisao, the Benfica captain, after Fernando Torres had been fouled. It's the first time the Dutch star has been sent off in his Liverpool career. Babel says he wasn't trying to look for trouble.

"He [Luisao] was all loud in my face and I was just trying to back him off, saying: 'Don't come too close', and in the end the referee gave me a red card for putting my hand on his face. And, well, I did it."

Babel feels that the decision by the referee was a bit harsh but he also accepts the punishment he was given.

"To me, I think it was a little bit too harsh maybe. In the end, yes, it was a silly thing for me to touch him on the face, but I think a yellow card would have been fair enough. But I suppose those are the rules. The thing was that he came onto me very loud and he came very close to me with his face and I just tried to back him off. They [Benfica] made it all a lot bigger than it actually was. But it was my mistake and I will learn from it and it won't happen again."

It is an honest admission from a player who is not known for being volatile. And Babel went on to admit that he had apologised to everyone in the changing room.

"Of course [I did]," he says, "But it's good to know that my team-mates were backing me up. They didn't let me down. I feel very guilty though that we lost. I think it could have been a very different situation otherwise," Babel admits. "But you know we cannot turn it back now and hopefully in the second game we can turn around the result."

Babel is not guaranteed a place in the first XI for the Merseyside club and will now be suspended for the return fixture. It was a rare start for the flying Dutchman, who was more disappointed at the opportunity that slipped out of his hands.

"Maybe the first dribbles I had were a little bit unlucky, but I felt confident afterwards that I could grow in the game. So it's definitely a shame that I wasn't able to finish the match."

Babel may feel guilty for the sending-off and the inevitable part that it played in his team's demise, but he thinks Liverpool can bounce back and go through.

"We were pretty comfortable in the first 20 minutes or so and we feel confident that we can go though to the next round. We contained them quite well when we were down to 10 men, so that is a compliment to the rest of the team."

Torres got grounded time and time again and then Graham Turnip said 'I'm not sure when he goes down whether he's really injured or not...'

**** off Taylor, it was plain to see that when he went down and stayed down he wasn't injured but just plain ****ing sick and tired of being kicked to the ground. He's the team punchbag and I'm surprised he puts up with it tbh

Agree with this completely. It's why I think we need a tough ****er next to him to take the heat off.

Bloody hell, a fair appraisal from young Babel there, honest, with a couple of quite interesting comments...like being happy his team mates were backing him up, and that he'll learn from it and not let it happen again.

Not so long ago i'd have expected him to just shift the blame...either onto the other side or the ref..totally, but he didn't....is he growing up...finally ?
