Johnson RB
Agger CB
Kyriakos CB
Carragher LB

That's the way I'd go.

Although he could play Johnson LB and Carragher RB but that would be playing two players out of position rather than one.

Not shocked by that suggestion at all, winning the Europa cup would serve only to expose how far we have fallen since 2005. It's not all Rafa's fault - it's mostly those ****ing Yanks, but something needs to happen. We need some inspiration from somewhere - we have a first team capable of beating anyone, but not a manager capable of instilling that belief in the team. Our squad players are poor compared to the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City etc. I was in full support of Rafa last season, but I can't stand his stubbornness any more.

I'd love to see us win this trophy, now that it's our only option. Still remember the Alaves final in 2001, cried a little after that match to see us back with a major European trophy after so many years. If we win it this season, I won't be as emotional, but I'll still be proud of the achievement. Goes to show how spoiled we've been as fans that so many of us seem to equate this competition with the League Cup. It is still the third most prestigious competition we could win this, or any other, season.

If we go three at the back we should avoid the trap of a 3-5-2 which is too much of a possession based formation and with them having good wingers is likely to be trapped in a more 5-3-2 shape. A back three with Mascherano in front is a much more flexible defensive base than a 3-5-2. It also eliminates the need to think of the defensive qualities of who goes on the left to some degree.
