I think we'd do well not to have the CL as a distraction next season. Most of the squad will remain and it will allow us to rebuild, though the Europa league is a tough competition where we play on Thursdays, which is far from ideal.

I'm happy with the squad we've got and feel that they're good enough to make us challenge for the league next season. A season out of the CL could be a blessing in disguise. It could herald the end of the Yanks for one as we'll not look so attractive to them from a business point of view, but it could also mean we have a better crack at the league.

So Europa League for me, a European trophy in the bag to keep Torres, Mascher, Pepe and the others happy and to show them that their commitment has been worth it. Next season Rafa will have to have his eye on winning the league and that's where my priorities lie.

Trophy every day of the week.
I exist to share my love for LFC with my 2 kids, I already tell them stories of Wembley, Cardiff and Istanbul.

If another team get into the top four this season then I think we'll struggle to get back there, if we manage to achieve a top four place then that puts more pressure on the teams expecting to be in that position (mainly Man City).

It'd be good to win the trophy now that we're in the semi's but it's hard to pretend that this is anything other than a wooden spoon prize really. If we weren't in it we'd barely take notice of it - I genuinely don't think I could name the winners from the last 5 years.

Both. We've got to be Positive. The thing I also want is for anyone but ****ing Man U to win the League... So - we have to beat Chelsea but also hope Man U loose a match along the way... i won't be happy if Man U win the league...

So... 4th and the Europa Cup.

              trophy for me too.

Even if we got 4th theres no guarantee we are in the group stages what with a nasty qualifier lying in wait the way that draw is these days.

Bag the trophy then **** Europe off for a year by playing the reserves in it next year and concentrate our energy's entirely on the league

Are the two mutually exclusive? Would hope that a run of form coming out of last nights win will help us secure max points in the league and the Cup.

I like the sentiment but that would never happen.

**** it I want the trophy right now, one year away from CL is not a catastrophe, but consecutive years out of the competition is. Milan didn't qualify two years ago and they are in the race for the title now to take one example.

We need to start adding some silverware to the club to get that feeling back to the players and making them hungry for more and I really think the fans need it now. Besides the one CL triumph we havn't got a whole lot to brag about under the reign of Rafa so far, so let's get something more.

But 4th and entry into the newly strengthened CL pre-tournament draw is something other than a Pyrrhic victory? Neither are really glittering prizes. At this stage I just want us to win every game we play until the end of the season so that I can go into next season with hope of real glory.

I think there is more glory in winning anything than there is in finishing 4th.

It is only money talking when we look at having fourth. I know it's different times these days but I can't help looking back at the days where only the league champions entered the CL/Euro Cup, it made the other cups so much more special and interesting. It is sad that only teams like Fulham actually see it as a glittering prize these days, and that many would rather have a league position that really means **** all than a trophy. I mean we don't even get a medal consolation medal for fourth as you do third.

I want a trophy and I have to say that the Europa league hasn't been that bad, lots of goals and decent teams, I don't think there is a lot of difference between Bourdeux, Fiorentina, Milan, CSKA and Porto on one hand and Juventus, Hamburg, Shaktar, Benfica, Atletico, Valencia and Lille on the other, not counting Liverpool!

Trophy and 5th will do me now considering everything.

**** forth place, there's no pride in that, lets win a trophy then smash the champions league winners in the super cup to show who the true giants of european football are, finally then we can spend next season doing what is needed.......WINNING THE PREMIERSHIP without the distraction of the champions league so Rafa can't get his priorities wrong again.

I'm feeling melancholy when it comes to the club at the moment. Whatever the players want more I want. Disasterous season and I wouldn't want any of them looking enviously at other clubs with envy.
"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."
