If the owners are depending on CL for their ANNUAL (missing out on the CL for one year wouldnt mean the payments can be put off for a year) interest payments and we then dont get into the CL, they'll have to replace that money somehow.

This is really close now just one vote in it!

I have to go for the 4th spot, I know that we should be winning trophies but for me the UEFA Cup ahead of a Champions league place for me reduces our chances of trophies further down the line! I'd rather miss out on the UEFA Cup and have a better chance of winning the league in the next few years, and that's the difference that CL qualification can make IMO.

We have to focus on the future and on our main priorities of challenging again for the league and the more prestigious European cup. Not getting fourth and the loss of a main source of revenue in a money driven sport is further going to cripple us.

I think it's fair to say that the real situation is that there isn't any impact that the effort to get one is likely to have on the other. We have to go out to win every game between now and the end of the season no matter what - the PL is close enough to mean that we need points any way. I can't see us prioritizing one over the other in particular.

For everything that's been said in favouring one over the other, whatever happens with the league I think most of us would be gutted to have got this far un UEFA and not go on to win it!
