He might have been more tempted to come to us.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

There really are only about 10 strikers who are good enough to play up front on their own at a level good enough to win us the Premier League, and none will be prepared to sit on the bench (or be cheap enough for us to afford). This always means we are left with a sub standard striker to play on their own, which is a thankless task.

So we have to play 442 when he is injured. Surely anyone with a brain can deduce that. And having seen us struggle every time in the actual games where he is managing the team, surely Benitez has to change things.

Its the make of a really great manager to be able to fit players to suit a formation, and select a formation to suit the players. Benitez can only do the former, and its really costing us. Its also the reason we only have 5 European Cups instead of 6.

Would have liked to see Nemeth given a chance this year as he has talent, but how much has he got?

The agent of Liverpool FC youngster Krisztian Nemeth has revealed Rafa Benitez must decide whether or not the player features in his future plans, as the young Hungarian is wanted by a host of club’s across Europe.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan at Greek side AEK Athens, where he has scored three goals and in 13 games, and although they are eager to retain the highly rated striker, his agent Tibor Pataky claims Liverpool FC will have the final say.

Liverpool FC boss Rafa Benitez has been relying on Fernando Torres and in his absence the relatively inexperienced David Ngog, and Pataky hints that his client could be ready to rival the aforementioned for a starting berth if the opportunity arose.

Pataky told Goal.com: "It is no secret that AEK are happy with the boy,"

"Of course they are; he is a fantastic talent and an excellent prospect. But if they wish to extend his loan contract then they will need to speak with Liverpool.”

"If every party can agree, then it is not impossible that Krisztian can extend his contract to stay in Athens for another season."

"Our treatment from Liverpool from day one has been fantastic, and as a result Krisztian wishes to do what Mr Benitez wants."

"But we have had other serious interest from clubs in Europe - from Italy and from Spain - so it is up to Liverpool to decide what is best for them and for us."

He added: "He is a sensible boy and he understands why he was allowed to leave Liverpool on loan. He went to Athens to pick up experience and to develop as a footballer, and it has been a great opportunity for him, one that he has enjoyed.”

"But though AEK are a huge club in Greece, Liverpool are Liverpool."

It's good to hear this, as I seem to remember reports suggesting he was unhappy with us and wanted to leave, not long after his loan started, I think there was a thread on here about it

I'd like to see what the lad can do as he set the world alight in the reserves and hopefully he'll make the grade with us.
