The race for European football of any kind

i'm really not that fussed about european competition next year. I'd like to go an win the europa this season, so at least in this disaster of year we have something to show for it. But there will be no champions league football next year and if we did win the europa this season than i would like to see us write it off next year.

Hopefully we get some investment/new owners in, and are capable of putting together a squad capable of challenging for the league....use the squad for the league! And use the cup competitions to give game time to squad players/youth and rest the main players.

Same here. New (good) owners...move on as a club, would be good for me, think only about the title...european football will follow soon enough.

- exactly, for arguments sake, say we go onto win the europa, well its’ done, we have won it, we aren’t in the champions league next year, so why even worry about europa next year – same for the carling cup/fa cup – Next year’s priority has to be getting back into the title race – we can’t afford to not be in the mix next season.....so concentrate all our efforts/resources and energy on the league games. No need to worry about resting/rotating players for big European nights as we won’t have any

We need some investment, and at least three players too add to the current squad providing no major players leave ray: - we can allow for players of say degen, aurelio, riera, and maybe one of babel/benayoun/kuyt to be sold (along with any ‘youth’ deemed not needed) if it is going to help fund the right players that we need to move the squad on.

From there, then it’s a perfect chance to play the likes of whoever the 2nd choice keeper will be, Kelly, insua(who by then should be second choice too a top left back), whoever isn’t geting a game out of the 4 centre backs, lucas/aquilani(depending on who is not in the 1st team) Pacheco, ngog, el zhar, etc etc

And who knows, the game time might actually help develop some of these lads, some of them might actually find some form and start pushing for the first team, and the first team might actually get rested properly meaning going into the league games they will be fresh and fired up.
