not true. i want to back the man but he has made lots of mistakes.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View Postbecause you either want to back the guy or you don't. its a fairly simple argument really. too many people hedge their bets and end up with splinters in their arses these days.

Absolutley, yet its the fans that back Rafa are tagged with the 'Rafa can do no wrong' label although we openly state that he has made mistakes this season. I dont think there is one Rafa supporter that would keep him on if he failed again next season.Originally posted by Marsh View Postnot true. i want to back the man but he has made lots of mistakes.

yes yes i can as i am wearing Rafa tinted specs ....thank you for showing me the lightOriginally posted by banditos View PostYou've mistaken annoyance with Rafa bashing for blind an unconditional support of the man. I don't necessarily agree with all his decisions, but I won't blame him solely for this seasons failure (I think lack of financial backing and injuries have played a massive part) and I definitely won't go out of my way to slate him, which is what you seem to always be doing.
I hope you can see the distinction here.

there's making genuine mistakes and there's being pig headed stubborn.Originally posted by Armchairkopite View PostAbsolutley, yet its the fans that back Rafa are tagged with the 'Rafa can do no wrong' label although we openly state that he has made mistakes this season. A mistake might be playing a player when not 100%, deciding not to purchase a particular player or by getting the tactics wrong for a particular game.
Being stubborn is continuing to play defensively against inferior opposition, playing the same system game in game out regardless of players available to fit said system or by playing your favourite players game in whether they are in form or not and ignoring other options.
Thats why for me he has no backing whatsoever from me. He won't change his methods. Regardless of money, luck or anything else he'll still write down note after note on his pad for a home game against Havent & Waterlooville, he'll still play Dirk Kuyt, he'll still treat every opponent as barcelona etc etc.
Mistakes aren't a problem for me, everybody makes them.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Nice one Bender. Didn't see that response coming. Its like talking to a Jehova's Witness.
One thing I do wonder about these Rafa bashers, is what they're trying to achieve, if indeed they are trying to achieve anything other than having a moan.
"Supporting" my club's manager despite his flaws is something I feel a duty to do, as I dont see slating him achieves anything other than possibly destabilising the club. For example, I bloody love it whenever I hear a manc having a dig at the wisky-nosed cunt, which does happen a bit despite his managerial record.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Its this sort of comment that makes reading anything in the footy forums tedious at the moment. Every thread ends up as a straight argument between the Rafa-haters and the Rafa-lovers (err...).I just wish BOTH sides would give it a rest, at least until the end of the season.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View Postbecause you either want to back the guy or you don't. its a fairly simple argument really. too many people hedge their bets and end up with splinters in their arses these days.
