    Lauri Dalla Valle time?

Ngog is injured, would you bring bright young thing into the squad ala Michael Owen all those years ago and see how he does?

    Or is he no good?
Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

In fairness, I don't think playing Michael Owen so young really did him many favours injury wise.
      Really?

Yes, but we got the best out of him.

and owen got a chance because of how good he was

he didnt become good because he got the chance

with all due respect dalle valle doesnt even look good at reserve team level against the likes of philipe senderos so whats he going to do against experienced premiership defenders.

he's far too young and the likes of fowler and owen were one in a million players. he certainly isnt that and he needs chances and unless youve been asleep for the past 5 seasons we dont create that many.

he isnt strong enough physically to play our system, and i dont think he's cute enough to play behind the front man.

babel and kuyt is the only option

I think regardless of potential ability now is a bad time to bring in a young player particularly a striker, the team is low on confidence and we aren't creating many chances. It's a sink of swim situation, and could harm his development if he isn't ready.

Give Pacheco a shout? Burnley aren't exactly tough opposition. I know they are fighting relegation and will be playing in front of the home crowd but the way they were set up under Coyle, to PLAY football, isn't the way they are set up now...not an easy victory by any means but should certainly be a victory...lets see what the lad can do.

No, not even good enough in the reserves at the moment

I have a fear that this lad will decide to move elsewhere for a chance at a first team. If he flops or ends up at say, Forsell's level we won't think twice, bit despite a dip I'm form, I still think this one is a bit special and that if he leaves we'll end up kicking ourselves. One of my issues with signing Ngog is that it must make the youngsters we have ask some major questions. If we bring in a top striker they'll understand, but fast tracking a player like ngog is a bit different.

Rafa will be gutted, he may be forced to play our 10m quid International Dutch striker, as a striker and if he had sorted out Riera properly instead of holding grudges, he could even play our 2 wingers, as wingers, what a novelty that would be, playing players in their correct positions.

                      Johnson...Carra..Krios....Agger

                      Gerrard.....Mascher.....Aquilani

                      Maxi........Kuyt.........Riera (Babel/Benny)

Kelly must have thought the same with Degan., Kelly knew Jay S was ahead of him and then Rafa brings in a no-mark from Dortmund reserves to fill up the squad.

Well it will be interesting to see what happens in the summer, as I'd be suprised if Degen is still here at the start of next season.

i think degens on his way out because kelly has shown enough to suggest that he's going to be a really good player for us. I would even play him on the left hand side at full back.

but dalle valle isnt ready to play at first team level and ngog will develop into a half decent player. For £1.5m what can you expect to get - he's not a world beater but the lad can do a job. My biggest worry about ngog is that he doesnt really look like a goal threat.

I know he's got 8 this season which is pretty good but he doesnt ever look like he's got goal scoring intent. It might have something to do with our system which as standard requires him to spend 99% of his time defending.

i think ngogs biggest problem has been most of the season hes played up there on his own with little support cant be easy for him but he just never looks very assured of himself when he does have the ball
