We had the same approach in those games, we just played ****.

To be honest I don't think there was that much difference in the overall approach, the first half was very similar to some of those games, the difference today was we got the goal, and Burnley had to push on and try to get back into it, which suited us and was why we got 4 in the end.

I agree, it's just too easy to say that. We just played better, passed the ball better and Burnley are even worse than Wigan, Pompey etc.

I think he's still bedding in the side but the encouraging thing is that he's got an eye for the early pass, which is a rare quality IMO. His one twos gives us fluidity and he seems to be playing well with Gerrard. Ah, and he's got a good engine.

Jury's still well and truly out for me. All well and good picking out the odd through ball like that (for Maxi) but too often he can't complete the most basic of passes. Gave some abysmal balls away again today.

And besides he didn't sit alongside Masher today as Lucas does, he was ahead of Gerrard.

Thought Babel was really poor. Didn't chase when played up front and gave the ball away countless times. Was a chance to show what he was capable of, and unfortunately, I think he did.

Special mention to Ayala. thought he looked quite solid at the back.

Yeah Babel was pants, as was Dirk who had an absolute shocker - he really is no centre-forward at this level. Ayala did really well against seasoned centre-forwards.
