The only people I have heard refer to Gerrard as that are Manc's and Chavs.

It's a waste of time responding to such comments, they are beyond contempt.

My take on Rafa's interview and failure to state his wish is that he wants to stay but not at any cost. I think that unless he sees reasonable funds being available and a stable structure to work within (e.g. apparently there hasn't been a board meeting since the septics took over) he'll decide to leave and I can't blame him.

I personally doubt any new investor would want Rafa to leave. I think as Lecter has posted previously any new owner would want to give him a year.

I hope he doesn't go and I really worry about the future if he does. If Rafa leaves I can't see any other good manager being keen to risk their reputation on such a dysfunctional club.

Pretty much sums up my take on things too.

If rafa goes we are really ****ED
we've jack **** money, and a small amount of quality players that would **** off too the moment he left.
Let's just hope and pray that new owners are here by June or rafa might just walk as if he can't buy the 2-3 quality 20-30 mil players we need to compete then he can't do his job which is to win No 19
we demand the title and we demand European dominance, rafa knows this but how can he achieve it with mid table funding? He can't.

Losing today was the best thing we've done all season.

I'm devastated with this season but some of the things i seen written in this thread alone make my blood boil.
I've come to the very real conclusion that we do not have the most knowledgeable fans in football but we may well have the most fickle.
Most cannot see past the end of their nose.
I would just like to know how many managers do you lot know that would put up with the interference/boardroom that Rafa has had to deal with?
I cant think of one top manager.
Most on here think they have knowledge but if that's true the how in all honesty can you pull names like Hodgson,Maclaren etc out of their arse.
It doesn't take a genius to realise that just as we've had a exceptionally bad season they've had an unusually good one does that mean they should come anywhere us........... no way!
As for Mourinho be careful what you wish for.
And as for cheering opposition goals that says it all about some of you.
                  I despair.

I hate the Yanks coz they have ruined this club & if Rafa walks I will hold them completly to blame.
Unless we see Rafa have a season without the **** that is going on, with the money that is expected we will never know how much of a success (or failure I might add) he could be.
Was Bill S easy to work with & a forgiving manager - from the story's that have made him a legend it doesn't sound like it... & I don't expect Rafa is any different... Ballague's comment's about he needs a high turn over of players so he can get the best out of them seem about right.
He isn't perfect, he's made mistakes & hard decisions but I honestly feel they where what he thought where for the best of the club. HE GETS IT. Sod the team letting the shackles off let's give Rafa a season to let his shackes off & then judge him.
Without that season I will always wonder what could have been. Liverpool has been a constant in my life for so many years & I have never thought anyone was bigger than the club but after only half watching football matches for the last 3 years (being pregnant or running round after a 2 year old & a now one year old) I've taken a slight step back & I really don't know how I will feel about the club without Rafa; I just don't see where the progress is in getting rid of him. For 2005 & for last year he deserves one more year.

So anyways rant over... I have never experienced a day like this in football today & watching Rafa's interview with Sky made me feel sick. I never want another day in football like this again but I'm really scared with these Yank gob****e's & without Rafa days like today might become the norm.

I suppose there's always the silver lining that Riera might stay though

                          Cheers

Why would rafa suddenly stop bringing on defensive players when we need a goal, if the **** upstairs disappeared?

How does that upstairs stuff have an impact on his basic footballing philosophies?

Ignoring my initial reaction to rise to the bait - how will we ever know unless he has the chance??? Do you honestly not think hand on heart Rafa should be able to put together his 1st choice squad & have one more season... is that more of a chance that giving the job to whoever is the popular choice this week??? Really???

Should we go over the nett versus gross argument... I'm sure that hasn't been discussed on here before

That's not the point i'm making though Rach.

Generally speaking, Rafa (judging by the decisions he makes), thinks it's better to bring on defenders or defensive midfielders when we need a goal, rather than attacking players. Or if he brings on an attacking player, he takes another one off - so he doesnt really increase the attacking impetus.

My question is why would his footballing philosophies, that dictate these kind of subs, suddenly change, if he had money to spend?

Granted, he'd probably bring on a higher calibre of defender than Degen, because he'd have been able to afford one. But his basic footballing beliefs obviously include the notion that, to increase the chances of scoring a much needed goal, you should bring on a right back rather than a forward or a creative attacking midfielder.

I dont see why a change of owners would change his fundamental footballing philosophies.
