It used to be the case that the player whose testimonial it was would keep all the proceeds, only over the past few years have we seen the trend for all the proceeds going to charity.

Carra even mentioned himself the fact that Everton won't want any expenses, thus more money will go to charity.

Now door to door clothing charities - they're a con. You can register as a charity if you give 5% of your profits to charity, yes only 5%. We have dozens of questionable charities operating in our area - they really are despicable. Something needs to be done IMO as many people think they're giving to charity but effectively are just lining some conman's pocket.

The man is a legend. Fully deserved.

However i don't like this line:


"Every one knows I was an Evertonian when I was a kid and I just thought it would be appropriate for the two teams in my life to have a game of football.”

Fair enough but i thought he'd wiped away all his memories as an Evertonian??
Maybe i'm being a bit harsh.

Not really, there have been two teams in his life; as a youngster he was an Evertonian, then when he signed up as a red, he became a red...he can't erase his history, and why should he...as a youngster he was misguided, and then he saw the light.
