Ohhh and we also have a thread about him in General Football....
It's an International week, I'm sick of reading about how **** Joe Allen is, I'm bored and found it interesting.

If I could have merged, I would.

Naively, I didn't expect Arn to be the first response.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Maybe it would make it easier if some people had read the whole post and not just a part of it.

I never said that Rafa is bigger than the club. I said that because of his success our managers now get compared to him and that isn't fair.

So in many ways he is bigger than the club. Our success with a very limited budget in the Rafa era means that for example Rodgers is compared to that because he get a lot of money to spend.

The title of the article also isn't fair because it won't look like a golden era, it was a golden era whatever manager replaced him. We played two CL finals and won one. Ranked number one in Europe and broke our point record.

In my book it is a big difference between in many ways bigger than the club and bigger than the club.

In many ways Rafa wasn't bigger than club. If someone is bigger than the club then he is that in every possible way.

No one is bigger than the club in anyway, so suggesting he is in certain ways is totally wrong.

I can't believe it's worth all this arguing over a cliché.

But since we won't lose today I suppose this will have to suffice.
                    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

It seems some posters arent allowed an opinion without it being jumped over by the usual suspects.

                      Pathetic really.

                        'The Usual Suspects'?

Too be fair mate, he was suggesting Rafa was bigger than the club in some ways. Not many are going to go along with that. No one has gotten nasty to him about it. Well....aside from suggesting killing him....

Rodgers haven't done a bad job but as long as Rafa is available then he must do a better job than we can expect him to do. Not fair but it is the way it is.

I asked some of my friends that supports Liverpool and they said all of them that sacking Rafa and replacing him with Roy was the biggest mistake the club have ever done.

Some of them wanted Rafa out but replacing him with Roy was just plain stupid and idiotic.

Well Rodgers has lot more competition than Rafa did. Back then it was just the scum, Chelsea and Arsenal. Now it's all the above plus Tottenham and Man City.

And Rafa was never bigger than the club and still isn't. Whilst he was probably in the top 5 best managers from 2001 until he left Liverpool, he's probably not even in the top 20.
