The Liverpool squad, what is really missing?

Why do people want to get rid of Benny? I think he has proved his worth on many occasion.

We have worse players I would sell before Yossi in an ideal world. But I personally would like us to move away from attacking midfieldesr such as he and look to get some much needed pace on the wings.

Pace on the wings is what Liverpool has lacked for a long time now. That said, pace and power costs money in the modern game and money is something we lack.

If we can get big money for Yossi then tbh I'd probably sell him. With Maxi coming in we have a player who can fill in for Kuyt on the right hand side and that probably leaves Yossi surplus to requirements.

As I said, I'd like to keep Yossi, but we need money for a new left mid and left back from somewhere. For me Yossi is a player who doesn't really fit into the 4231 unless given a free role, and only one player gets a free role in the Liverpool team. He wants first team football and tbh I can't really find a place in the starting XI where I would be happy with him as first choice.

Sell/release:

Riera, Degen, El Zhar, Babel, Aurelio.

Use Johnson right midfield, push Kuyt as a back-up striker.

Kelly as first chice right back

Buy a striker, left back and left wing.

CHANGE our tactics, stop defending 1-0 leads and conceding at the last minute.

Get Gagger back in central defence and partner him with Skittle.

Play 4-1-4-1 with a fit Torres.
Play 4-4-2 when he isnt fit.

Make Pepe the Captain.

Think harsh on Jamie and i also think if you were wanting 2 new fullbacks you would need Jamie in there to bark the orders.

I agree though with your other points, its not just about defending 1nil leads, its also going for 1 nil victories, sitting back till the last 30mins away at ****e teams.

Completely agree. Skittles has been shown up this season as not quite good enough IMO. With Wilson apparently coming in and Ayala looking better each time I see him, wouldn't be surprised if the Slovak is sold this summer.

Skrtel has had a poor season and has fallen down in the pecking order. Just because Johnson is a good attacking fullback it doesn't mean he'd be a good winger, we need a proper winger there. And as good a prospect as Kelly is he's not really to be regualr first choice, he's played 2 games for us!
