A rampant 5-1 triumph over one of England's finest young sides, a style icon of the future and as good an impersonation of Diego Maradona's famous World Cup goal as you are likely to see - this and much more in the 2010 Academy Awards.
So, who scored the best goal, which player was named star performer and, most importantly, which starlet featured in a practice match wearing only his boxers and a party hat?
The answers to this and much more were revealed on our latest trip to Kirkby, where one of the squad's more senior members, Tom Ince, was on hand to dish out the prizes.
Best performance of the season....
Tom Ince says: Well we beat Leicester City 5-1 away in the FA Youth Cup, so that has to be up there. The 4-3 win at Everton must be in with a shout too. I suppose you could include our last match of the season when we beat Huddersfield 4-0 as well.
And the winner is: Leicester City (a)
Best goal of the season...
TI: I can't think of any now the pressure's on!
Liverpoolfc.tv: Not meaning to sway you but Michael Ngoo's Maradona-esque strike against Stoke wasn't bad was it?
TI: Oh yeah, I'll have to give it to Michael. I can't think of any others and it was a fantastic goal. He'll just start moaning if I don't pick that anyway.
And the winner is: Michael Ngoo
Best assist of the season...
TI: (Long pause). I'll have to go for mine when a set up Michael (Ngoo) at Blackburn. I beat about three or four players and was one-on-one with the 'keeper. I should have shot myself but decided to make sure we scored and just laid it across for him to tap it in.
And the winner is: Tom Ince
Most enjoyable win of the season...
TI: I'll pick Everton away. They beat us at home earlier in the season so we wanted to make amends. It wasn't quite going to plan at half-time though and the way we fought back from 2-0 down to win it 4-3 was brilliant. It was a great feeling, particularly against your local rivals.
And the winner is... Everton (a)
Best tackle of the season...
TI: Ha, ha, that's easy, Flanno. There isn't one in particular but I don't think 90 minutes goes by without him nailing someone! It's always a great challenge too.
And the winner is... John Flanagan
Best piece of skill?
TI: I think I'm going to have to pick myself again! It's hard to remember bits of individual skill from early in the season, but I did a nice drag back to take it into the penalty area and fire it into the corner in our last match at Huddersfield. I'll go for that, though I'm sure some of the other lads would claim they did something better.
And the winner is... Tom Ince
The Players' choice as player of the season...
TI: I suppose the pressure is on with this award because I've got to try and speak for all of the lads. I'm going to go for Andre Wisdom. He's had to play out of position a few times and always does a good job for the team. But when he's at centre back I don't think there are many better than him in this age range and he always does the business for us week in, week out. I'm sure he'll kick on next season if he continues to progress the way he is.
And the winner is... Andre Wisdom
Best HT team talk from the boss...
TI: Rodolfo hasn't quite done an 'Istanbul' just yet, but there have been a few good ones. We were 2-0 down at Everton and came back to win, so I'd say that was a good one. I'd also mention Leicester City in the Youth Cup. I think we were already winning 3-0 at half-time but he knew they were a good side and he did well to ensure we weren't over confident in the second half.
And the winner is... Everton (a)
Best overall moment...
TI: Leicester. All we had heard was how good they were and that they were a really strong team who were still unbeaten. So for us to go there and literally hammer them 5-1 was incredible. It almost felt like we had won the Youth Cup, it was such a good performance against a top side.
And the winner is: Leicester City (a)
Unsung hero of the season...
TI: I would probably say Flanno. He puts in 100 per cent all of the time and he tackles for fun - he just loves to get stuck in. I think the fact he has played games for the Reserves towards the end of the season shows how well he has played.
And the winner is... John Flanagan
Best dressed player of the season...
TI: Ha ha, you know I want to give it to myself, don't you? But aside from me, I'll go for Matty McGiveron. He wears all the designer stuff and makes sure everything matches and is colour co-ordinated.
And the winner is... Matty McGiveron
The worst dressed...
TI: It's either Michael Ngoo or Stephen Sama. I'm leaning towards Sama because some of his gear is awful... Actually, I've just remembered Krisztian Adorjan. He wears summer stuff when it's raining - he's not got the best dress sense so I'm going for him!
And the winner is... Krisztian Adorjan
Funniest moment of the season...
TI: We had a coaching course on the indoor pitch. Michael Ngoo came in with just a party hat on, his boxers and a pair of boots! The guy who was running the course was getting a bit frustrated but it was hilarious. We actually played a game and Michael went through the entire match dressed like that.
And the winner is: Michael Ngoo
Biggest Joker in the squad...
TI: Well, after that story you won't be surprised for me to say Michael, but I'd also mention Toni Silva.
And the winner is: Michael Ngoo
The best taste in music...
TI: Matty McGiveron. He's got all the latest songs on his i-Pod and his taste is quite eclectic so he gets the nod!
And the Winner is... Matty McGiveron
The worst taste in music...
TI: I'd go for Toni Silva. He plays some bizarre Portuguese stuff and no-one here is into that!
And the winner is... Toni Silva
The most vain award...
TI: Andre Wisdom. He loves to look his best! If he's not spent enough time over his appearance then he'll start moaning! It's definitely him!
And the winner is... Andre Wisdom
The best with the ladies...
TI: Quite a few of the lads have got girlfriends so I can't give it to any of them! It's difficult...
Liverpoolfc.tv: If we put it another way...Who gets the most attention from the girls?
TI: You know what... I'm going to give it to myself. I tried to be diplomatic, but I'm going to have to say myself! Although Michael Ngoo has got an absolutely massive plonker.
And the winner is... Tom Ince
The worst coloured football boots...
TI: Raheem Sterling. He's got every colour under the sun. Yellow, white, pink, purple....
Liverpoolfc.tv: Pink? He hasn't worn pink in a game has he?
TI: No, not in a game, but he has worn yellow and white before. Each day of the week he comes in with a different coloured pair of boots and they are all brand new, so it makes it worse!
And the winner is... Raheem Sterling
