    The Smell Of Blood

Love or Hate him but Roy Keane was a great player and said he knew his time was up when the younger players at the club (manure) aswell as opposition players were able to get at him cause they could "Smell Blood". What he meant was everyone sensed the invulnerability that he had was fading and psychologically they did not fear him anymore hense half the battle was won. I have a feeling the same is gonna happen with LFC this season. We scared the **** out of teams last year. Our defence was so miserly a lot of teams who played us did not think they would score before they left their dressing room. That was a massive boost for us. This season everyone now thinks they have a chance. That coupled with our insecurities at the back and our lack of confidence means this is going to be a very long and painful season. It would be nice to think we could bounce back against Villa next week and then go on a winning run through till new year but football does not work that way and our problems run very deep. I fear for the team over the coming weeks I really do.
    Dare we believe

    Me too.

A couple of winnable league games and then Arsenal away. We'll get battered. So that'll be five league defeats before Christmas - that's provided we don't lose to Villa or Reading.

I seem to say it every single ****ing season, but can't we fast forward to May and get it over and ****ing done with?
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Arsenal secured 4th spot and lost 9 away last season. It's not all over by any means.

That's exactly what happened last year, no?

You get the feeling we just need back to back wins, I thought the Spurs and geordie wins would have done it but for some reason they never.

            Yeah same here.

I'm still sure that we'll get 4th but it'll be a fight, realistically I think we're out of the title race but you never know !

good point Tom. The worry I have though is that both Portsmouth and Villa have investment this season. Portsmouth have already spent, Villa will do in the Xmas window I'm sure and have got O'Neill as manager.

So I think the also rans are stronger than last year and that does concern me.

I think both of those teams will remain tought to beat but I can't see them putting in long winning streaks, something we are well capable of.
