    Five years ago today

I experienced arguably one of the greatest nights of my life. Only surpassed by a few emotional personal family moments. Whatever happens to Rafa's tenure at our club, for Istanbul alone he will remain a hero in my heart.

I was studying in US and could not afford cable tv. I was watching it in the common room in a dorm in the uni. My friend and had cable TV, recorded the game on the DVR and let me watch it how many ever times I wanted at his place. My friend is a die hard Manc and he made that gesture because he knew how much it meant to me. Any interesting stories you guys have to share.

watched it in a pub on the northside of chicago. after the shootout, the guy next to me lit up a cigarette and declared to me "this is post coital."

I have very close friends in Chicago and am planning to visit there quite often. Hopefully we can catch up next time I visit. Never been to ginger's. Love the globe, though

Nothin special, went round to me mates to watch it - remember his whole family left the room at half time in disgust and i was left watching half time show on my own normally with us being 3-0 down, if someone asked me if we had a chance i would say no - that night though i said "give it 20 minutes" - listening to the crowd at half time really did give me belief and made me start thinking 'hang on, this is liverpool fc; if an club can do it then it would be us' - boy was i right

Every goal during the six minutes we for some reason ran out of the living room, into the front garden - jumpred around screaming and then waddled back inside me mate missed the penalty claim because he was still celebrating smicer's goal, you can imagine the look on his face when he runs in thinking it was 3-2 to find out that we had a penalty as well

The rest? Well, spent most of the time with my head in my hands looking through my fingers.

ginger's is pretty crap in comparison these days. i'd gladly shuffle in there and sit under the lfc gear in the shrine corner

Best night of my life without a doubt.

There's about ten things that stand out from the match but here's the main ones:

                    - Didi standing on the touchline waiting to come on for the 2nd half - little did we know the impact he was going to have...

                    - Gerrard's header and lifting crowd and team-mates celebration

                    - Smicer's celebration after his penalty - passionately kissing the Liverpool badge knowing that kick was his last for LFC.

Overall though, what a night. One that makes you proud to be a Liverpool supporter.

Was in a pub in dublin city centre with a couple of mates.when it came down to the last penalty, one of my mate couldn't watch so had his back to the screen facing me. As jerzy was saving the peno he said my face went from all apprehensive to full out crazy the bar went mental and everyone was jumping around celebrating, even some of our manc friends another mate was on the phone to his 3 year old son telling him how much he means to him we still slag him about that but its a night i'll never forget.

i know i'm biased but i honestly think it was one of the greatest finals ever because so many people remember were they were when we won, even non footie fans.
