Its time for another Pennant thread.

Ive stood up for this guy the last few weeks........but i no longer can

He was complete and utter **** out there yesterday. The guy didnt even look interested, and when he made a mistake trying to be fancy with the ball on the wing he hid afterwards. After that moment he didnt even touch the ball

Even Rafa looked effed off at him when he lost the ball. I dont mind a player losing the ball trying to be fancy, but its the fact that instead of trying harder the next time, as Speedy did. He bloody went and hid from the fans so they wouldnt get on his back.......pissweak

buck up your ideas Jerm, you wont be here long if you dont

Yep, complete ****e! looks to be used as a sub and maybe start in lowly cup matches. Can't afford to have him playing like that. Garcia is waaaaaaay better on the right.

Hasn't impressed me at all. Bring in Anderson. Let Jerm play in the ressies for a while.

Anderson deserves a run out on the right against Reading.

Yeah, he's crap and a waste of money - but who do you blame for us buying him - the manager or the board?

Rafa's first choice was Alves, who on his showing in the Super Cup against Barca is about a million times better than Pennant and would have improved our team no end.

Now did Rafa not buy Alves and settled for Pennant instead because he didn't want to spend £12m on a right-back/right winger (ie he thought he was overpriced) or was it because he felt the tightening of the purse strings and he instead wanted to strengthen in priority positions?

You could argue, as alun did a couple of weeks back that he would have been better off saving his money and not buying at all, and perhaps played Gerrard on the right again, but people were expecting a title challenge this season and you would have got the usual moans about Gerrard being played consistently out of position and Rafa not addressing a problem position which had been an issue for 2 seasons. Rafa was damned if he did and damned if he didn't. I mean for £6.5m (which is well above what Pennant is worth anyway) who could he have gotten?

As has been said many a time on these boards, the £6-7m players like Bellamy and Pennant are not going to improve us, it is the £11-12m players like Kuyt and Alves who will. We need to be buying first choice players, not second and third choices.

May be if we got a fee for Cisse it might have been different

            I dont think he's crap

I think he is being used wrongly.

That's the other thing that really pisses me off about him, he's on the floor every couple of minutes - he seems afraid to take a player on in case he gets hurt, and the slightest physical contact and he's on the ground. FFS man, grow some balls.
