I think the thread title is completely wrong. No winners? Hasn't Gerrard brough us back from the brink of defeat numerous times? Wasn't he heroically acclaimed as the man that made the team believe after his first goal in Istanbul? Hasn't Carra show us what a winner he is many times too? The problem is that both of these players are out of form.

Bellamy would've been one player who would've been full of running and invigorated the team a bit yesterday. Kuyt, impressively, is similar in that way too. Regardless of the situation, neither of these players will drop their heads. We could certainly do with a couple more players like that, but what is really needed is not individuals who have that character, but a TEAM ethic that demands it. We had it during our long winning streaks last season but it has been sorely missed so far this season. As the lack of confidence spread throughout the team it gets worse and worse.

The way we are at the moment we have to score the first goal or we are in the ****. Hopefully if we bag a few wins that will change, but Rafa has to take a lead on this. Something has to be done to re-establish the team's character, to revive our confidence.
