This is devastating news for me; while I can get behind a change, I can't get behind a change done this way with no plan in place and no support coming to make the club better. This is cutting off our nose to spite our face and it makes no sense. That said, if he has lost the players, then he should go. If they felt half as frustrated as I did at some of his man management and his tactics against third tier squads on the road, then I get it. If they were as devastated by the nonsensical pursuit of Gareth Barry and the sale of Alonso as I was, then I get it.
Either way, it seems a lot of people associated with the club are acting on emotion and not on business sense; If Rafa goes, I want a plan in place for improving the club. Without a clear path to improvement, this is utterly stupid.
If I was Rafa and I was reading this information in the press and it was leaked by the club, especially the "lost the dressing room" story, my heels would be dug in a mile deep and I would not walk out the door for less than what my contract demands. No way should he allow himself to be bullied out the door for less than 20% of what is due him. If I were advising him, I would be sure to have him show up for work every day, whistling a happy tune because he has all the cards now; the negotiations have been sabotaged by the club leaking to the press and there is absolutely no reason for him to resign. Pride is for suckers; the £13 million pound difference between the contract and the club's offer is all he needs to talk about. The impact of that money on the club is no longer his problem... I hope he digs in and bleeds Hicks and Broughton for every penny he is due. I know I would. If it's really this way, if it's really just business, then pay me and **** off. No non-disclosure, nothing; fire me, pay me and **** you.
This is really a **** day that ego, emotion and lies have led us to this.

I just hope we get Guus Hiddink. I really rate the guy and would love him to be our No1
