spot on dhavlos, first few mins we were all saying great start etc.
      after that though,nothing.
ppl pulling out of tackles is what drove me over the edge
      one in particular with pennant.
what i cannot get over though was
      1. how comfortable they were,no pressure whatsoever
      2. our lack of fighting spirit.

Like turning the clock back to 1985.
You're right - they got the reaction they wanted.

To be fair, we stood and took 70 minutes of dog's abuse. "Murderers" en masse and incessantly, "you killed your own fans", and their pathetic "we won it two times". I was seated about ten rows from the scum in the K-Stand, and there were full families singing 'murderers' - I saw one girl of about 14 giving it some with her parents. FFS.

Then loads in our end just exploded. Out of nowhere the 'Munich' songs went up, with various giving it the aeroplane gestures. There were many not getting involved (myself and the chap next to me included) but it seemed more were singing it than not - certainly around me anyway.

We sank to their level - if only for a minute - while those scumbags go at it for 90 minutes. I'm not making excuses - we shouldn't have reacted - but something had to give. Our fans made hardly any noise, seemingly bottling it all up until they all flipped, and then went back into our shells.

It was better than them letting us straight out to get steamed into by a load of knuckle-scraping Mancs - although the sad ****ers had of course assembled a meet & greet party for us anyway, as they all started screaming 'murderers' at us - again.

I was going the opposite way to the escort so had to break from them as we left the forecourt and walked up Matt Busby Way. Funnily enough I didn't exactly feel safe either!

They are pure ****ing scum and I am honestly at a complete loss as to how on earth they can label us with the same **** and yet carry on the way they do. All 72,000 of 'em.

AND they're top of the list of Football League banning orders once again yet, in their eyes, we're scum and they're all angels. The mind boggles.

I love the rivalry and I love the hatred - so long as it remains within the boundaries of 'hard banter'. We don't want anyone getting killed at this fixture but, at the rate it's going, it's only a matter of time before someone does.

Spot on Shaggy - The singing yesterday was the worst I had ever experienced. I hope it stays as very hard banter, but yesterday just looking at the police horses by the away section says that it may not.

The beginning of the end for me was when gerrard was bitching at Xabi for a slack pass. Just got the feeling that we were going to have communication problems all day. the problem yesterday IMHO was the attitude of the players.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                      * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Ironic after that 15 year old was shot dead recently in Moss side.

How strange that none of the ****e they get up to gets anywhere near the papers, yet look at the slating we got after the Cup match at Anfield last season and the semi final at Old Trafford. Stomach-churning, though unfortunately unsurprising, double-standards.

And apparently the worlds's most odious runt Terry Christian was on radio claiming that he never heard a single chant of 'Murderers' or any references to Heysel or Hillsborough during the game, but oddly enough he was outraged by the Munich chanting. It's like the word 'scum' should have its own sub-category dedicated solely to this hateful worm.

Still disappointed that we rose to the bait though, even allowing for the provocation. I'd hate for the 'Munich' song to become a staple of every game we play now, much as it was for the 3 years prior to Heysel. People used to put more feeling into singing that than YNWA, and it regularly made for a wholly unpleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, too many of the kids who go now aren't old enough to remember (or at least didn't experience) the tragic implications of taking such bitterness to its (il)logical conclusion.
