We are going nowhere with these owners, that`s why I think Roy is a OK signing. He`s there to keep senior players happy, get a decent (european place) result and not pick fights with the owner publicy.Originally posted by Shaggy View Post

Seriously though....they're going nowhere. What a disaster.
Good luck Roy, you'll need it.
The club will be sold and Roy will move on without much fuzz.Blank

It's pretty certain to be Hodgson that will become our manager now.
When he gets appointed officially he has my backing 100% and I believe he will get the support he needs from all the fans once in charge.
Hope he does very well and better than I expect currently. Hope he is able to give some stability to the club - it is much needed.
Welcome

Well I think the English managers are finally getting what they have asked for all this time. An English manager in a big job. How he does could well shape the future for the next generation of English managers.
Long have they moaned and grumbled that they deserve a chance at the top table, and Roy Hodgson is the one to step forward . I think he can thank Harry Redknapp for his chance. Had Redknapp done nothing at Spurs I am positive that Hodgson would not be at the club today.
It could easily be argued that Redknapps success at Pompey and then Spurs was down to a big cheque book - something that could not have been aimed towards Hodgson. Ropy has done nothing short of a miracle down at the cottage in dragging Fulham from relegation fodder to mid table safety and a clutch of miraculous nights in Europe that will single him out as Fulhams greatest ever manager for long to come.
But it's one thing making a small club punch above their weight, and quite another in meeting the at times crazy expectations at his new club. Finishing in the top 4 this coming season with Liverpool will in the cold light of day be a major success. But it will never be treated as such. The halcyon days of the 70's and 80's have assured that.
Whilst I'm sure we will thank Roy if he drags us to 4th, he needs a league title to please the masses here. Anything less when he leaves the club and he can forget about being spoke of in the same breath of past legends. The fact he replaces a legend doesn't help him either.
Rafa may not have left for Lake Como and the sunshine with a League title, but he took a European cup winning medal and that did enough to justify his face on the many Anfield flags dragged out for the big games.
Will we ever see Roys face on a flag? He wont get it for top 4. But achieve the impossible, dare to dream as he did at Fulham, and he would be considered a true great. It's what every manager dreams of, and you can bet your house the english media and the LMA will be willing him on.
Over to you Roy.Forwards.......

Steve McClaren did exactly the same with Boro, and he's won the Dutch league (better than anything on Roy's CV). Can you imagine the reaction if we appointed McClaren?Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostRopy has done nothing short of a miracle down at the cottage in dragging Fulham from relegation fodder to mid table safety and a clutch of miraculous nights in Europe that will single him out as Fulhams greatest ever manager for long to come.

Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Welcome to Liverpool FC Roy.Originally posted by bradsdad View Postwhen you are a football genius like kenny that wouldnt matter its not like he has been on a different planet..roy is a good guy and a decent manager ...but he is not in kennys class...and i now fear we could lose stevie and torres which i believe would not have been a worry under kenny
Have to admit not my first choice, he went to RM but as with any LFC manager he must get our full support.
As for Stevie and Torres going, from what I've seen in the media Stevie approves of the appointment and Torres has said he is very happy at LFC and that Rafa was best for everyone (which can be obviously interpreted in a number of ways).

I've kind of been getting used to the idea and I warmed to him a bit during his punditry stint over the past couple of weeks.
If we can keep Gerrard and Torres, it will be a good summer and I'm delighted that neither have set the world alight in South Africa. I can't really look beyond that at the moment.
I'm quite looking forward to seeing how he handles Shelvey/Pacheco etc and it'll be interesting to find out the makeup of the backroom staff.
