    Reality

    this is the harsh reality.

if steve g, torres, mascherano, riera and a few others leave this transfer window or by january the business opertunity that is liverpool fc will be worthless.

how do the yanks believe that they can buy a club for 450 sell the assetts and create a mountain of debt and then ask for double the asking price?

its like buying a box of sweets, eating most of them and trying to sell the rest for double.

    it doesnt make sense gents.

As for woy, i am not a fan. is he better than rafa? no... so what are we doing... i said this time last year that kenny would be the next manager but it looks like i wll be proven wrong.

i feel ashamed, i work with a few mancs and if woy is appointed manager i will just get destroyed, it will never end so pissed off

Another question is this, what will the boards expectation for the coming season be?

" Hi Roy, we expect you to finish in the top four this season. there is a strong possibility we may sell your major names and we may give you 50% of the revenue back to buy new players.... Want a job?"

            OR

" Hi Roy, we expect you to finish in the MID TABLE this season. there is a strong possibility we may sell your major names and we may give you 50% of the revenue back to buy new players.... Want a job?"

You've accused the guy of a crime he has not (as yet anyway) committed. Let's see how he gets on before judging him. With little money and a very tough fixture list at the start of the season, it will not be easy so I think he should be judged in that context.

What's worse, is i don't now believe the club will be sold for YEARS, one two or maybe even three, otherwise why give Hodgson a 3yr contract, and why would he take it anyway if unless he knew there was i big likelyhood the club WON'T have new owners any time soon, truth is, i don't think they can sell the club, and are now preparing for the future as if that's the case.

                      3 yrs makes perfect sense.

we wont be sold before preseason so unless he's doing a terrible job and we're bottom 3 at christmas, he'll be here in 12 months. if so, paying off 2 yrs of a contract by a wealthy new owner is fook all.

if he's transforming how we play and we're looking good then maybe a new owner will back him just as city backed hughes for his last season. meaning he is with us 2 full seasons. then if he's still good he'll retire at 65 going out at the top with LFC. at which point we cherry pick anyone we want with our filthy rich sugardaddy new owners...

if new owners want a steady hand during the transition, roys a sensible option.

what do you suggest? a 1 yr contract? what kind of manager worth his salt would even consider that?

so on the contrary, i think 3 yr contract means we are definitely being set up for a sale and roy is a realistic and sensible choice.

I've heard a lot this season about managers on rolling contracts (O'Neill certainly is on one year rolling contracts at Villa, I have a feeling Roy was on one at Fulham too). I would have been inclined towards two years with an option of either a rolling one year contract after that or additional year signed up if he meets certain criteria.

That said obviously we have no idea of the details of the deal he has actually signed.

The danger of a long contract is a big pay off and I remain skeptical there will be a quick sale of the club.

Or the length of Roy's contract is nothing to do with the sale of the club, and merely us meeting Roy's demands in regards to his wanting some form of job security....ie, him saying you may be sold and i may be fired, so i'd like a little bit of security should i find myself jobless in 6 months time.

agreed but it has to make sense from our side too.

and oneil is only on one as he wants to jump to a top 4 club... roy had it all to prove when he arrived at fulham didnt he. so that made sense too.
