    Hodgson: The first interview

Have you spoken to the board about your transfer budget?

No, not as such. One thing they made clear to me is we have to work within whatever restraints are in place at the club, but they've also made clear that if we were unfortunate to lose somebody then that money would be made available. I'm hoping that won't be the case because I don't want to lose anybody, but we haven't gone much further than that. The Chairman is here today and I'm sure that during the course of the day, when I've spoken to the players, there will be meetings and discussions along those avenues as well.

With a bit of luck RB will sign Ngog, or tell his boss to do so.

I'd be very surprised if Fifa actually could (or even would give a **** about) order that.

why not in other jobs you've got to by law have a certain amount of rest period.and the fact is fifa run world football.

So you think FIFA would put in such an order, because they care so much about the welfare of players? More than the clubs, who invest so much money into them?

they must have because the echo reported it as a mandatory 3 week break from when country is knocked out.

I would've interpreted that as being mandatory with regards to the players contracts with LFC, in terms of being entitled to some free/holiday time off work. Rather than being enforced by Fifa. Just my interpretation, it may not be true.

i've known other clubs in the past to report back to training without players who took part in euros or world cup,so i'd say its a governing body rule and not the clubs.

I didnt mean the clubs would've implemented the rule, i meant it'd be likely that it was to do with employment laws. Eg, workers are entitled to SOME time off and obviously footballers cant have their holidays during the season.
