    Ayala heading back to Spain

WTF? I thought he showed plenty of promise. What the hell is this all about?

Liverpool defender Dani Ayala is set for a season-long loan move to Spanish second division club Real Valladolid, with a view to a permanent move.

The youngster joined the Anfield club from Sevilla back in September 2007 and Reds reserve team coach John McMahon claimed that the 19-year-old had all the attributes to succeed.

However, the hot Spanish prospect only has one year left on his contract and, following Rafa Benitez's move to Spain, he is now excited to be possibly returning to his homeland with Valladolid, who were relegated from La Liga last season.

"Right now I am waiting to see what my future is because I don't know what will happen now Benitez has left. I am happy at Liverpool but I would be very excited to play in Spain," he said in The People.

Ayala made five appearances for Liverpool last season, starting two games, against Stoke and Burnley.

he done pretty good when he played last year. bit of a shock to see him go as he was a good prospect but not exactly gutted.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

I'm hoping Roy will put stop to this nonsense. He stepped up last year when we needed him. We should keep him and extend his contract..

Quite a clever move for everyone concerned. Ayala gets to play, prove himself and then cement a place either at Liverpool or Valladolid. If Ayala has a strong season we charge the earth for his services, as other clubs will also start sniffing and anyway we might want him back if he has a stormer season. Unlike the baffling Nemeth loan last summer this makes a whole deal of sense in my mind.
        One tit for another.

But surely if it's 'with a view to a permanent move' then the onus is on them to decide whether they wanna make it permanent or not? It's their call, no?

Maybe Danny Wilson is coming after all.

Playing in Spanish 2nd division is hardly strong way to prove himself. I personally think he has all elements of being a very good CB. To me, if we want to retain him we should extend his contract and than loan him for a year to Championship league where physical aspects of the game are much more demanding and where you can easily and clearly monitor his progress.

Dont know whats going on, he can clearly fill in when needed and can only get better.

I could understand when we let San Jose go, but not Ayala - sort it out Roy.

                    It is a puzzling one
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He only has one year on his contract, surely he wouldn't be going on loan 'with a view to a permanent move' that he could make being out of contract anyway?
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

john mcmahon recently eulogized the lad and to think that all of a sudden he might leave on a permanent deal is a joke.

A one year loan for development makes real sense b ut to sell Ayala isnt the start under hodgson we were hoping for.

I wonder where this leaves the likes of bruna, pacheco, suso and co.
