One of the things I picked up on from Hodgson's interviews since he's been our manager was his emphasis on English youngsters, mentioning Sterling, Shelvey etc. I have a feeling lots of the foreign kids will be on their way out now.

Hopefully the best ones are kept, Pachecho, Dalla Valle etc though.

That is what I thought too, seems a totally bizarre idea.

This really pisses me off, he's showed signs that he has what it takes, Carra and all of the coaches are jizzing over him, now this? I can't believe it, especially if tehre really is a view to sell permanently. Seeing he just signed a contract extension a few months ago, it's very bizarre.

If we're selling him to Englishise the team and buy the likes of Taylor, I won't be overly happy about it.

I see it as something similar to San José, something I was less concerned about, people said he was rubbish, but the thing is he did pretty well last season for a young player in a good league. Starting a good number of games for Bilbao isn't easy, especially since they have Ustariz and Amorebieta who are very good central defenders. To displace them at 20/21 isn't an easy thing to do.

Oh well, he can play with our other ex youth prospect, Antonio Barragan over there.

This would be a strange move from the Club as the lad seems to have what it takes to cut it in the Prem. If it was about cashing in I could kinda understand but we are effectively letting him go for nothing . Doesn't make sense.

Wonder if he isn't happy on Merseyside? It's hard to tell because he has a face like a slapped arse but it is disappointing news considering the promise he showed last season. Makes the frame more available for Hangeland now.

You could well be right but why not just sell him. A div 2 side in spain is hardly going to pay much dosh are they?

Not happy about this.roy needs to get carra involved with coaching.
Also we should keep this lad and play him in the europa, carling,fa cups.

                    FFS

Showed a lot of promise last year I thought. Obviously we don't know the full reasons behind it (doesn't like England? Wants first team footy? Not in Roys plans?) but it seems a strange one

To be fair though we don't have many details at all here. It could be that we want him to sign a new contract and that a loan to get first team football will help that, for example. It could equally be a made up story based on that quote that he is unsure of his future.

You are the voice of reason yet again Dave and I hope your optimism is repaid in full.

The whole story doesnt add up...file with the rest of the BS the papers are writing

....it seems as though they will write anything to try and de-stabilize our club even more

I wouldn't say I'm optimistic I just don't see that there is any evidence on this subject either way. There are genuine reasons to be pessimistic about the future of the club and certainly the coming season, but if you ask me this isn't one.

If Ayala has a strong season we charge the earth for his services, as other clubs will also start sniffing and anyway we might want him back if he has a stormer season. Unlike the baffling Nemeth loan last summer this makes a whole deal of sense in my mind.
                              He'll be out of contract.
                              Oh I don't know.

He'll still be under 23 though so we are quite likely to get compensation. Not that we could 'charge the earth' mind.
