Put yourself in Roy's shoes. What would you do in terms of summer signings, even backroom staff as the likes of Pellegrino and Valero are going. Sorry if theres been a topic like this before as I haven't come across one, just new!

Babel - £8m ish. I can see him staying, but i'd sell him and try for VDV.
Mascherno is hard to say. I'd like to do all to keep him. Inter seem to have ruled him out and RM still seem a long way out as do Barca as they are interested in Cesc. He doesn't seem to want to be here but I can mabye feel we can get one more season out of him.

Cole and Turan are exactly the type of players we need and in terms of Arda, a player who wants to put on the Reds shirt. Gallas would be a brilliant and cheap capture as we need a new DF. He can play anywhere along the back, but for me can do a job at LB as I don't think Emilano is good enough yet to be first choice. Agger could play LB as he has done very well and Skrtel/Gallas partner Carra, so many possibilities.
That would give us many possibilties in both 4-4-2 and 4-2-3-1

So we could easily change our team about in our approach in either 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1. Jovanovic, Lucas, Maxi, Skrtel, Insua, N'Gog, Pacheco, can provide a good squad.
I've based our transfers on "we're ****ed", so unless we get new owners anytime soon Roy will have to wheel and deal and theres a few good Frees out there. Joe Cole obviously we'd face alot of competition for, but its one that I'm sure Roy can persuade and is interested in. Theres very good players out there that have impressed in the WC etc. and players like Ozil, Benzema etc. who are available so if the money is there its definetely worth a punt, but very unlikely as a sale doesn't seem anytime soon.
