    New found optimism

I was very much against Hodgson for boss but I have to say I'm feeling a bit better about things now and having looked at our, considerably strong team, I think this season could be OK and even a very good one depending on ins and outs.

    Reina

    Johnson/Kelly Carra/Skrtel Agger/Sotiris Insua/New left back

    Mascher Lucas/Aquilani

    Kuyt/Maxi Gerrard/Maxi/Aquilani Jovanovic/Riera/Babel

    Torres/Kuyt/Jovanovic/NGog

With one or two decent additions we have a very very good team and if we focus on the league this season with Europe on the backburner I think Roy might surprise us all. I'm starting to look forward to it a bit

Got to say I was never that despondent about Roy's appointment and I remain fairly optimistic that he will have a positive impact upon our football team.

For me it's never been about Hodgson but more about what his appointment says about the state of the club and the scope of our ambitions.

If he can persuade Torres and Gerrard to stay then I'll be more optimistic.
          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

No optimism for me, especially that he's the choice of the current board of directors.

the current board of directors allegely wanted a british manager so as much as you want to think its a yes man, maybe its just a British man.

While i am not convinced that was the right route, they have the best of british available and realistic.

I am very happy and am more hopeful going into this season than with Rafa in charge

I'd certainly rather have Roy than either Harry or MON...
The key to making his mark and his intentions clear will be whether he can persuade Torres and Gerrard to stay...or whether it is completely out of his hands and the Board dictate their sale to lower the debt on the club.

That is the make or break factor for the club, not just for this season, but for the forseeable future...

I love Rafa and hope to see him again even, but hopefully we have seen the end of these politics, Rafa had the clubs interests at heart but I think it was too much of a struggle and it's effect was very likely felt in the dressing romm.

I cant complain, I always said if Rafa failed to get 4th place, he had to go and to be honest I wanted a British mamager. I think Roy will get the best out of our average squad players, something Fergie is brilliant at, if he can keep the spine of the team together, we will be much more consistent than last year.

I'm think Aquilani will have a much bigger impact this season..

                          Optimistic.

I think the squad needs refreshing, then go into the new season with lowered expectations and less pressure, then maybe who knows...
Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

Got to be the least optimistic I have ever been before a start of a season, just not looking forward to the first match.
