    Deja Vu - Again?

This time last year, we had just lost 2-0 to Fulham and after 8 games we had W2 D4 L2, 10pts.

This year it is 9 games, 11 points.

Then the CC match against Palace, so, when we beat Reading, at least something will have improved!

Then this time last we went on a glorious unbeaten run, with a good spell of consecutive wins intertwined into that.

Everywhere I go (LFC wise that is) it's depressing, just thought I'd interject some positive thoughts.

And it's the same theme everywhere, the fans can see what is wrong, so I'm sure the management with all their pro-zone **** & high cameras can see the same things.

A nice 9-0 on Weds will cheer me up, playing some Arsenal inspired one touch fast flowing foootball, and then I wake up having dozed off half way through the first half, but find to my horror that, as usual this season, we are struggling at 0-0!

I felt seriously low yesterday but thought I'd be fine today. Not so. I'm still sulking, still fed up and it's all Liverpool's fault.

Even if we beat Reading 5-0 I'll still be fed up. We need to beat Villa, beat Reading in the league and get some kind of result at Arsenal. Only then will I be feeling anything like vaguely optimistic.

There is a positive Arsenal are one of our next away game and that would mean we would have played the 4 toughest away fixtures any team would have in a season plus the bluenoses who wont be easy at their place. Hoping our performance will pick up though, we were not very good at all yesterday.

Walking back to the train station from the Palace match a couple of people were saying Rafa has to go he is a good manager but not for the Premiership etc

The two situations are very similar in that respect, we have had a similarly abysmal run and similar reaction. However, this season we have lost 3-0 to the bitters and 2-0 to the Manc and taht really ****ing hurts so much more. Plus the fact that this season an improvment should see us putting in a strong challenge for the league. At the moment we need a similar upturn in results and fast to have a chance of that. It's just depressing when the season hasn't even got to the business end and you feel like we are miles off already.

It's absolutely gutting, I can't imagine how much worse the fans who actually went to OT to witness that shambolic performance must feel. Things can and will change, but Rafa really has to work his magic now.

It was the lowest I’ve ever felt leaving a football ground.

I’ve never left a game before it’s finished but I tried to leave on 80 minutes, but they wouldn’t ****ing let me. Staying another half an hour wasn’t much fun either, and by the time I trudged out, in the pouring rain, I was as low as I’ve ever been after a game.

                    WONDERFUL!

That's what I keep telling myself. If you had to pick our 8 hardest games of the season, after the Arse game, we'll have got 5 of them out of the way (the other 3 being Arse/Manure/Chelski at home, which at least aren't as bad as the away fixtures). If we were a bit more on the ball, we'd have been prepared for a lowish position at this point. Sometimes our high expectations are counter-productive. If we can keep our confidence up during this tough patch, things will get better as the fixtures get easier.

It is a dark day at Liverpool when we should have been preparing for a lowish position just because of a hard run of games.

exactly what I was thinking and just said to my mate at work!!
I went to both those matches and remember coming back thinking "this is just so ****, we are ****, the team needs a good kick up the arse" remember Crouch was so off form he was getting **** from the Palace fans!!! It really looked like Rafa did not know what he was doing.

                          Fast forward a year and.....

It's realistic though, until we are up to the new std set by Cheksi and Arse previously, of losing a max of 3 games a season in order to win the Prem. instead of the six which Fergie used to refer to.

It's also pretty unusual to play the 5 hardest away games of the season before you meet any of them at home... I would say that only Chelsea wouldn't have looked at our early fixture list without gulping slightly. Any other contending team would expect to get a large proportion of their more normal 6ish losses from those fixtures (we'll see if Manure can match Chelski's 3ish this year or indeed, if Chelski can again). Manure, for example, would expect to lose away at Chelski, Arse and Liverpool.

I know this is only theory, but the season should get easier....
