He could have made a deal for Sneider..... we were in a better position for him than the likes f Inter.

it was more than a game or two.Originally posted by EwarWoo View PostThere's a massive difference between a team on a high making do without the playmaker for a game or 2 and a team on a low having no-one to look to to create their chances.
i think the problem was that gerrard and torres didnt have good or full seasons if they did i am not totally sure it would have mattered as much.
he would have been missed no doubt but football is a cocktail there are lots of ingredients.

Didi was another of the Owen gang that Rafa wanted to get rid of, so it wasn't just English players. Tried to phase him out for a couple of seasons and we only won the CL and FA thanks to Rafa's capacity to admit that he had made a mistake and bring him on. Thank God he hadn't sold him, it was only when Masher arrived that he could confidently get rid.

When they were playing but they were looking for a supply from midfield and not getting it, I don't think they could have had a good season under those circumstances.Originally posted by Marsh View Posti think the problem was that gerrard and torres didnt have good or full seasons if they did i am not totally sure it would have mattered as much.

if one or two can take the blinkers off for one moment
can anyone disagree with this
look at it objectively ...i've always held this view myself ....
1 ,you get offered a job back at home after working for 5 years away from home...
2 , doubling yer money with the lax tax laws in the process [from which you've been vociferous about] with one of the top companies in the world no less ...
3 , your new company is gonna shed some unprecedently ludicrous amounts on new employees at the top of their profession... and compete on all levels in your business fields ...
4, you ask your existing employers who are we bringing in to our company ?
oh and just to put the top hat on it ,yer birds on yer case too, telling yer to make the move too....erm a deafening silence ensues and a standoff and then the inevitable dreaded transfer request telling you that one company aims to move forward and one which will ultimately stand still
ps without wanting to sound like ronnie irani .. it was ,what they once said in a 1968 canadian hockey match ' a no brainer '
did i miss anything ?

It's commoin knowledge that the very large majority of the Alonso money went to the bank, Rafa then took a chance on buying a potentially great mid field player on tic having only around 5 mill left to spend, i think he then pleaded with them for 1.5mill to buy Kyriagos.Originally posted by reds123 View Postso why did rafa buy aquaman the day after xabi left?
Imo 2 seasons with no net spend is poor for a club like lfc, especially when you consider we haven't sold a player for money like scum got for Ronaldo to offset it, sooner or later that's going to have an effect.Last edited by Vermilion; 11-07-10, 10:34 AM.

It's amazing how sensitive players seem to become when they have a chance to earn more money elsewhere. Alonso, Benayoun....
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Yes, the broken down relationship with your current employer who had been trying to kick you out the door for the best part of a year, whilst the better company in better shape were willing to kick down doors to get you in.Originally posted by merlboo View Postif one or two can take the blinkers off for one moment

It's a myth about him creating chances. In his last season he provided just three assists - 2 for Torres and 1 for Kuyt. That's just 3 assists out of our 77 league goals. And he scored just three, one of which was a penalty.Originally posted by EwarWoo View PostThere's a massive difference between a team on a high making do without the playmaker for a game or 2 and a team on a low having no-one to look to to create their chances.
So, contrary to the myth that has built up since he left, he actually created very, very few goals

That is a little mislead though mate, as he also helped create by giving the ball to say, Kuyt, who would then play the final ball.Originally posted by Redspin View PostIt's a myth about him creating chances.
