    I'm getting a bit worried

I'm getting a bit worried about the rumours of who we're buying and selling. We're being linked witha bag full of ****e, players that will help us compete for 10th place but should not even be considered for a team that should be pushing for the title.

I'm also worried about an article on lfcglobe about the possible sale of Lucas:-

Liverpool reject £5million bid for midfielder from Italian club

Liverpool have rejected a £5million bid for Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva from Palermo, however talks are continuing between the two clubs, LFC Globe understands.

Liverpool rejected a bid for the Brazilian last week, however the two clubs are still in discussions with the Reds demanding atleast £8million for the 23-year-old.

Roy Hodgson is believed to have no say in the deal as talks began with Palermo before he was appointed as manager and Christian Purslow is heading the talks.

Hodgson isn’t keen on losing the Brazilian, who started in 32 of 38 Premier League games last season, but is unable to influence discussions which are already in an advanced stage.

Purslow is set to hold out for at least £8million and it is likely that the Italians would match that price after letting go of midfielders Mark Bresciano and Fabio Simplicio.

Meanwhile, Nabil El Zhar looks set to leave Liverpool after publicly declaring he wants out.

He said: “I want to leave Liverpool. I do not play often enough.

“I’m 23 and I cannot afford to only play a few bits of games. There are several European clubs interested and I will not close any doors.”

If this is true and Purslow is selling players without Hodgsons consent then we are truely ****ed. I'm praying this is all just lazy journalism, but its pretty depressing...

If it were two different players it would be more worrying.

If anyone can manage to get £8 million for Lucas then they are clearly the right people to be handling our transfers!

I don't know how I'll live if we sell Lucas. It breaks my heart. I don't think i'll be able to take it anymore. Football is dying. I might kill myself. Please don't sell him!!!!!!!!! LUCAS !

Sadly, I fear we need to start accepting that we simply will not be doing so at any point in the near future.

As for potentially selling Lucas, £8m seems rather on the low side to me. I know sections of our fanbase are not his biggest admirers, but he's young, gained a lot of experience in a tough league already, played more than a few times for Brazil, and would cost easily that much to adequately replace.

          Mine angry and defrauded young?

We're linked with buying and selling ****, so probably a net neutral result.

Young, fairly experienced and played for Brazil are factors that should push the transfer fee up, that is true. And if we are looking for players to replace him using similar criteria it is true we would be paying at least 8 million.

However, on real terms replacing him wouldn't cost as much, given that he offers pretty much nothing.

Why would anyone start from the premise of us being a team pushing for the title?

I seriously doubt it, he is a good passer and a good tackler, if we lose him and masch we are in serious trouble.

Not sure that's entirely fair, when Lucas played as DM without Mascher in the team last year he was one of our better performers. Personally I'd be quite interested to see how he'd do under a manager with a different footballing philosophy, but if he has to be sold, £8m to me still seems like a relatively poor return.

Not LoveChild biggest fan but he has been our most improved player last year and it would be interesting to see how Roy would use him and how he would react to Roy's management style.

£8m may or may not be a good reflection of his present value (personally think he is worth more) but I am not sure that £8 would be enough to get us any more quality and for that reason also we may be better off to keep him.

I have made a few comments as to why we picked Hodgson as manager, one reason is for us to sell our best and get average players in return then stay mid table, and Hodgson is the best man for that, and I have seen nothing to change my mind yet. When yiou seeing us challenging Stoke for a player from Wigan, well that I think states our posistion and it isnt good.
It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

                              Good he really can be.
