No one will pay the money needed for Gerrard IMO. So he is staying for certain in my book, whether he likes it or not.

Torres, well we'll have to see. Will again take a massive fee and with his injuries would clubs be willing to smash the British transfer record for him? I highly doubt he would be leaving us for any fee that is sub £60m.

So for both players, I have question marks over whether clubs would meet our valuation. Both are on lengthy contracts too, so we have no need what so ever to sell either.

Mascherano, is a different kettle of fish. I think clubs would pay £30m, but it comes down to how much we want. Benitez wanted £50m last year, would we want the same now? He also has only two years left on his contract. Keep him now and we'd be in serious danger of him hanging around a bit longer next year and leaving on a bosman free. I think if he is not willing to stay we have to sell.

nail on head fella. I also think that Hodgson must be thinking that he cant exactly do a lot with 12million or wahtever ****ty budget we have. But if he gets a decent chunk of mashers money well that could alow him to buy a couple of other decent squad players.

After listening to Roy's interview today regarding Torres, he states quiet categorically that Purslow had a much more in depth chat with Fernando as regards his future with LFC -we, as supporters are entitled to here the details of this conversation.

For God's sake - we are going through untold turmoil here, we need to know the truth - no more ****e talking. Please, please give us the indication what we need.

If i was another top player, thinking of accepting an offer of going to us, i would be wanting to hear what Torres' plans were before commiting.

I think Masch, Gerrard and Torres HAVE been honest. Masch wants to go regardless. The other two want to see big changes. The manager has changed, which will please them, but they now want to see improvements to the squad and first eleven. If that happens, they will both stay. If it isn't, they will go. That is why they have been silent since the end of the season.

And the key to that happening is the sale of LFC. Hence Purslow's long conversation with Torres.
