    This is great news and maybe some kind of signal that Torres and Gerrard will stay.If i was Joe Cole,one of the first questions that would be on my mind would be if Torres and Gerrard are there next season?

    He must have had some assurances on this,I can't see it all being about whoever gave him the biggest wage packet.

      hmmmmm a new left back and maybe another one or two squaddies and we could be sorted - also, i wouldnt bet against a title charge

          My take on this is that he wouldn't have signed for Rafa.
          Now I was and am a big Rafa fan so that's not a dig at him but Cole and his agent have been very vocal about wanting to be loved, to play every week, ideally centrally and obviously Roy has told him he'll get all of those.

          Rafa didn't make those type of promises to anyone (hence the criticism of his 'people skills'

            good addition - now sign a first choice left back, possibly a back to him if we can and i'm ready to go.....another striker wouldn't hurt either but jovanovic and cole so far and our next priority apparently the left back is a good start.......the big question mark is now mascherano - if he goes then i do think we would need to spend a large chunk of it on a replacement.

            though i'd much prefer to keep mascherano, if a £30 million sale meant we could spend say £15m on a replacement and £10m on a left back it would strengthen the squad......just depends what level of players we could get.

                    44.3 - Joe Cole played only 10613 mins of a possible 23940 in the PL after joining Chelsea in 2003/04; just 44.3% of playing time. Bit-part.

                    Hopefully have a better percentage for us!

                      Absolutely bloody delighted about this, always had my suspicions that he'd end up here at some point!

                      Seem to remember him speaking VERY highly of us when he was in the studio for a Champions League match at Anfield.

                            Great signing....the lads got a lot to prove to some of his detractors and I think we're gonna get a good couple of years out of him.

                            just need that LB to be sorted and who knows......quiet optimism becoming expectation once again!
