And i also dont believe either Purslow or the yanks are stupid enough to sign a player that the Hodge doesnt want, and then see that player rotting in the reserves, after they'd paid a fee for him and are paying him a weekly salary.

The Hodge picks the team and if he doesnt rate a player, the player wont play.

The yanks wont fund signings/pay wages for players to mill about not being used.

Roy said he'd chatted to Cole (about what, we can only guess...my guess is about the club and the direction we were heading and what role he saw Cole filling), Roy then also said if you want to know more, talk to Purslow, cos he's dealing with the transfer...I took that to mean that as the money man Purslow handles the contract negotiations?

I personally think Rafa had outlined his transfer plans before he left, and cecil is just following it...

I doubt that very much.. Roy will want to play different players, in a different system.

He can't do that with Rafa's potential signings....

A vid from the 17th...Cole didn't choose us til after that date, so at that point could Roy confirm whether or not Cole would join? Better to keep schtum rather than build up expectation no?
