Very sad. I always liked him, nothing spectacular just a steady honest player. Seemed a nice fella too in interviews I saw over the years.

Its things like this which put sport and our club in perpsective. The guy served us well as a player and academy coach and respect and thoughts to his family at his sad passing
    'and boy could he play!.

We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

I'll be honest I thought he was absolutely **** but then I was only about 10 when he broke into the team and pretty clueless. He can't have been as bad as I thought - he held his own in arguably the finest club side this country has seen.

Seemed a really lovely fella and did well with the reserves.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He was an ok player at best imo

Its amazed me some of the eulogising about him as a player because I certainly didnt see him as a "great" or anywhere near worthy of that sort of praise

Terribly sad for him to go at such a young age though

Is it really necessary to appraise his qualities (or rather the possible lack of some) here?
                          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Not really, but its nicer to be nice about someone who's died before their time

Yes, that's what I was getting at. It's not the positives I'm uncomfortable with.

                              Poor bloke. RIP.

I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06
