I'd sign the best LB possible and have that sorted for good.

I'd then look at signing the best back up striker we can to cover Torres.

Whilst doing the above i would be offering Mascherano a new deal.

If all three happened that would be the team sorted squad wise, and then it would only be a question of improving each area with better players.

I like the sound of Augero to partner Torres and would also love someone like Kaka to join. He didn't have the best of years at Real and I think he is one player that could move on if the price was right.

I like the sound of Cole behind Torres, but Kaka is simply on another level.

I might be missing something, but no-one has suggested we continue to build a strong squad with a balance of 'grafters' and 'creative' players. The most successful teams have a great mix of the two. We seem to be heading down the 'let's buy a team of awesome individuals' route.. which as we've seen with the England performances in the World Cup, isn't any guarantee to it working.

I'd be happier with some emerging young talent, like Turan, to bring some steel and guile into the team. We've got the older heads in SG and JC for balance, but someone like Forlan would be also be excellent and would be a great role model for others.

Then, how good would it be to say we won the Premiership without simply buying it...?
