    OK, What If?

Robbie bangs in 2 against Reading. Does **** all else but clinically puts two chances away.

    Should he play against Villa?

Just wondering whether people think strikers should be judged on goals, personally I do.

Generally speaking, under Rafa, If one our strikers scores, they dont play the next game.

Take Crouch for example, or Djib last season, or that time Pongolle popped up with two against Luton....

So if God wants to start on Saturday, I'd advise him to 'work hard', but not actually score.

Strange logic perhaps, but that's Rafa.

I wasn't asking Rafa, I know the way he thinks. Would him scoring 2 goals but contributing little in build up justify him playing the next match?

At the minute yes. No one deserves their place after the last match in terms of effort or achievement - so if someone actually does something they should start the next match.

I also think Robbies attitude might help others on the pitch irrelevant of how he plays.

Regardless if Robbie scores, what we really need is a proper striker pairing where our TOP two strikers (Crouch and Kuyt imo) play every single game so at least they can develop an understanding. This chopping and changing of strikers every other game is bull sh!t and has to be a major reason why we can't score.

If a pair of strikers don't play with each other regularly how can they possibly develop an understanding?

Rafa's rotation policy is not benefitting our strikers, it's KILLING them.

I have played striker all my life and people perception is how many goals have you scored ?
I think it has to do more with hard work and the goals will come.
Look at RUSHY for example, worked his socks off defending from the front, linking up and scoring **** loads.
Fowler ain't 21 anymore but he still closes down defenders and hurry them into making mistakes which is what Rafa likes to see.

that's how it seems to go at the moment for our strikers, esp crouch. Thing is strikers need to know that they will get a run in the team, esp if they are scoring. Nothing breaks strikers confidence down than playing well, scoring and then being dropped for the next 2 games.

Yeah, but Kuyt and Bellers are hard working strikers too, who close down defenders and harass them. Do you think Robbie should start ahead of them?

Should get the subs bench if he does so. If Bellamy is fit for the weekend then i think we should throw him in for the match along with Kuyt. We havent seen anything close to those two guys in full speed

hey glynn, long time no see mate
I think all of our strikers work hard, but Robbie might be fresher than the other two. Actually i want to see Kuyt/Fowler partnership tomoz night.

I want Kuyt and Bellamy given a good number of games they'll score eventually
