I thought that was a good result in the end. If you'd been offered a draw at half time I reckon most would've taken it. Pepe rescued us a few times in that game. He'll be gutted, but there's no reason to be. If it wasn't for him we could well have lost. He's got more than enough points in his bag to be excused that one.

****ing disappointed with the late goal, but the fact I feel so sad considering we were 10 men against Arsenal on the first day of the season means that there's something to look forward to. We can be well proud of the players today.

Not too fussed with Cole's suspension, perhaps we can appeal it and get it reduced to 1 game or something, if not then Aquilani or Gerrard will just have to play in the hole, hardly a disaster. Ngog's performance was definitely something to take heart from he's a player with the potential to be pretty decent if he can make it click we'll have ourselves a pretty handy player for now and the future.

I thought we were good in the second half, however, we were not in the first half, except for our defending.

Skrtel today, after being awful last season was excellent today.

Seems like it took the sending off for us to roll our sleeves up but playing Arsenal on the opening day of the season when the club are under new management is never going to be easy!

Skrtel was quality today and hopefully he will keep the form he has showed. Maybe this new medical team can keep the injuries down as well.

Haven't been able to watch match - what exactly happened with own goal? Was it Reina's fault or more just bad luck/not time to react?

thought we did well again today and Ngog today showed us why he is the inconcistent hero he is. Skrtlel was fantastic as well and seems Gerrard has the bit between his teeth this year

Clearly it was, although when a top player makes an error you give them the benefit of the doubt and move on, it's not like it's doing it every week. Anyhow, he pulled off that close range stunner which was sneaking under the crossbar from Rosicky a few minutes before, not many keepers would have saved it.

Great result. Down to ten men at half time against an Arsenal side who bossed us in the first half and had the ball all second half was a great result. Not to mention we had a concussed Agger on the field who was pretty much hanging on.

Considering the time Roy has had working with the team, I thought we played well and I think we have a lot to look forward to. Two tough games at the start of the season can't be easy when you are a new manager with limited amount of time to prepare the team. Will be interesting to see how many of these players will start against Trabzon. That's this week isn't it?
